Newbie looking for Z4

Hi everyone,

I am a newbie to the site, I am currently looking for a Z4 for some summer fun and have a few questions..

I am looking for a 2003/2004 2.5i SE with somewhere in the region of 60-80k miles. My questions are as follows...

1)What should the service schedule have been for a car of that year?
2)When does the cambelt / waterpump need changing?
3) Are there any specific / common faults I should look out for?

Hi and welcome, as Alan suggest use his sig for guidance.

Regarding Servicing there are two systems BMW use.

1. Time based, every two years brake fluid change, and maybe on 03/04 coolant every four years.

2. Condition based servicing @ around 15k average, using three service types in the following sequence.

Oil > Inspection 1 > Oil > Inspection 2 > Oil > Inspection 1 > .....................

I'll let you work it out though :wink:
 
And don't forget you are getting a sports car at a fraction of the original cost so to compensate the cheap purchase price you might end up having to spend bits on repairs etc. If you dont need to spend anything then its a bonus. Good luck hunting
