Newbie looking for advice

Hi all
I'm about to buy my first Z4 (put a deposit down today... v.excited!) and was looking for some advice.

I've gone for a 3.0iSE Auto 04 plate, sterling grey, red oregon leather, heated electric adj seats, sat nav, cruise control, plus all the other usual stuff. No rear parking sensors unfortunately :(

My first question is what problems should I look out for?? I've done a bit of research and found there have been problems with the rear coil suspension but not heard of anything else. I'm buying it from a BMW dealer so will get an AUC warranty so was thinking i should be ok if anything goes wrong.

Secondly, i'm probably going to modify/upgrade it slightly and wanted to know if its possible and roughly what the cost will be. I'll be looking to:

1. Updagre rims to 108s - how much could i pick up a set of these for? How much would i be able to get for the 103s it currently has?
2. Add Bluetooth - is it possible to retro fit and how much will it cost?
3. Add CD changer - again, is it possible to retro fit and how much will it cost?

Thanks for any advice!!

Cheers
Jay

welcome to the forum :D Sounds like you have done your research

1. open yourself up to corrosion problems going for 108's and whole load of hassle - just my opinion having had some...
2. Bluetooth can be added, cost depends on whether you want OEM retrofit or 3rd party solutions such as Parrot or ioPlay.
3. Again yes can be added - dealer reckoned £500 to fit when I bought mine... I just got em to reduce the price by £500 and paid sticker effectively making it part of the deal :D

You are gonna love it :D

Hi and welcome

Take no notice of gannet :poke: , and get yourself a set of 108's price will depend on condition www.bmautosport.co.uk normally have a couple of sets.

I have sitting in a box a Bluetooth Loom, ULF, Bluetooth Antenna, Upgraded Steering Column Mic, which is all you need to do the job, I bought for mine, just not sure if I am gong to do it, as it probalby wont work very well with my phone (My Parrot kit doesnt either though) I paid £26 for the ULF and £70ish for the rest IIRC.

With regard to the changer to me this is a DIY job, a bit involved as you need to remove some of the interior, but the cable is already there for a changer so just need to plug it in. Quick serach on ebay should find you one.
