Newbie Looking for a Z4

Hi, I'm a potential Newbie........... and introduced myself yesterday in the 'Newbie' area.

Anyway, just to repeat myself, last Sunday I wrote off my TVR on the way to deliver my Mother's Day Gift. Basically, somebody misjudged their speed coming around a tight blind corner (waterworks bend in Staffordshire) and hit me head on. After being cut out of my beloved vehicle and whisked off to Hospital under blues and twos; I was later released with 12 stitches in my head and a very very sore battered and bruised body. :headbang:

Anyway, it made me think, maybe I should steer clear of cars that have no air bags and threaten to kill you at every opportunity! So, I've decided to go all sensible and buy a sports car with air bags - yep, a Z4.

I've decided on a Z4 roadster 2.5 with around £8000 to spend. Don't want to spend too much money on this car because I only need to use it once a week for work purposes and the rest will be just enjoyment, so tying up a lot of money in a car that is used sporadically cannot be justified - a lesson I learnt with the TVR. I've just been to look at a 2005 2L black with red leather interior at a local garage but it looked pretty rough and hey wanted £6890 for it with no history whatsoever!

Any good 2.5's out there for sale.

Join the club :) Had an S2 for years. I had that thought 9 years ago and still love my Z4. Won't make the same noise as a TVR, but less likely to break down, still lots of fun and, as you say, safer.

I'm not sure there's much advantage in going for a 2.5 over the 3l, esp as (pre facelift at last) the 3.0 came with more as standard, such as sport suspension.

Probably the only thing I regret about mine is not having the sports seats and, er, well that's about it I think. Been pretty hassle free too. Probably worth looking for a facelift if you can. Plenty worth reading on here before you buy.

Good luck, enjoy

There's a 2.5 for sale in the for sale section. Think it's down to £5,250.

I'm on the lookout at the moment too, so if you see any priced at around £5k then let me know!

I quite fancy either a light blue one with magnolia leather or black with red leather. I think silver looks nice but we already have a silver 1 series sitting on the drive. Phoenix yellow looks good as well.
