Newbie looking at the E89

8k one looks worth a punt especially from a dealer, base stereo tho :exitright:

Spend a few hundred and improve that - still not a patch on yours though, worth the extra for the bits on it alone

Indeed, it looks a decent cheap punt but needs ££££ and plenty of time to make it tasty, if someone puts a bit of effort into it, could be a good buy

True but I guess if you want a project or just go and get one straight out of the box

Well looks like this grey car has been on the forum before:

You probably couldn't do much better for 8k in the current market tbh, its a decent colour combo too.. Stereo upgrade a good detail and a nice set of wheels and there's a decent car there

Don't disagree - add those in and the car becomes £9 to £9.5k - extra grand for your with remap / ZHP and Royal

plus smarttop, lower mileage, lots of new parts, exhaust mod, cdv delete, plus all the work is done for you.. A buy and enjoy car :D mine is definitely a better buy (imho) but there is potential there if one wanted a cheaper do-er upper

yes there was to much to list and I agree add all that in and that £8k suddenly become £12k quite quickly

Well it is time this thread came to an end.

Today I have purchased an E89 Z4 very unexpectedly, very happy, but will have to wait a couple of weeks for it to be prepped as it only arrived this morning into the garage and needs a few bits doing before I take the keys.

It’s a Melbourne Red M-Sport 23i / manual with Cream/white leather interior. It drives like a dream.

Is that the local one to you? I was going to link it earlier but when you’d said black was now the preferred choice and it was over budget I never.

Congratulations glad you’re sorted

As a wee aside, if it is the same car and they’ve still to prep it, might be worth asking them to deep clean the seats. They looked quite grubby behind the headrests etc but apart from that nice looking car

Yes Andy, up the road, had to make a decision instantly as there was viewers that turned up when I came back from the test drive.
It will be fully cleaned inside / out with any marks removed I’ve been told. It was over budget but was in very good condition and drove very well.

Hi Ash,

So pleased for you mate - it is about time this one stopped and it does indeed look quite nice, I like the red / cream combo.

What are they doing that is going to take a few weeks?

Thanks Sean. A couple of weeks max but I gave him a long list of things I wanted doing so it’s my doing. Easy to collect as it’s 20 miles away though.

Guess its better to have it right from day one than have to keep going back and forth - does it have all the toys you wanted?

Any more pics

No Idrive or upgraded stereo as I could see.
Has heated seats, pdc, sports seats and wind deflector.

I’ll get more pics when I pick it up.

As we said something would have to give to get a car close to home.

No probs - it does look good

Are those wheels 20", as the tyre profile looks about a "10"?
Not seen a 23 with that colour combo, especially the black roof. It could be quite rare

Just noticed. You've bought the car on the forum banner
