Newbie looking at a Z4

Hi All,

Great forum and tons of info about whihc is nice to see. I'm currently looking at a new sDrive20i after seeing some of the finance offers available. I have an MX5 at the moment and so see the new Z4 as a nice step up. Has anyone come from an MX5? Would be great to get some feedback on that. Also, any dealer recommendations for the best deal achieved on a new one (London / South East) would be most welcome

That yellow is looking good to me!

Hi and welcome :)

try a few different engines and then make your mind up, the new 2 ltr engines are fairly new so doubt there would be much feedback out there yet.
 
I had an mx5 1.8 sport (then a Boxster) now a 2.0 sdrive so I'm not far from your change plans

The Mazda was great in a light and chuck able sort of way, doesn't really have enough power to get itself into trouble and the handling is terrific for the available power. They are a bit flimsy though, doors rattle clunk closed, fair bit of suttle shake and keep fit hood mechanism! Cheap as chips the run and maintain though

If we miss out the porker you will find the zed much more solid, hardly any scuttle shake ( that I've noticed anyway) and about 10 notches up in interior quality. Driving is different too, more go even in 2.0 guise and much more torque and the handling is more panted where the 5 would drift and skit the zed just seems to hunker down and get on.
