Hi all. I'll be picking up my silver '07 2.0i SE from Cobham BMW on Friday 10th September. Can't wait, watching the weather forecast!!

Nice one. There's a lot of zeds in Richmond so welcome to the gang. I always give zed owners a wave so maybe see you around soon

Outta town, up-river near Ham House. I'm getting very, VERY excited. Wife and daughter finding me unbearable, son is still awestruck!BIG :D come Friday.

Here ya go.....silver because my current car (Volvo T4 estate) is midnight blue and a pig to keep 'clean'!

I've spied a silver Z4 parked on the back streets off Richmond Hill. Hasn't moved for about a week :( belong to anyone off here?

Welcome bud :)
Whens the new wheels then? :poke:

Why change them?

Bigger wheels will give a harsher ride and the added mass will mean an increase in unsprung weight.

Oh I get it, they'll look better.

Nice car by the way.

Yes. Infinitely better.

Theres also a '53 blue ZR parked outside a big house in Petersham that I pass everyday, hasn't moved for ages.... :(

New wheels aren't on the agenda just yet guys, gotta let Mrs and the kids and the dog get over the old family Volvo.
They're also a little concerned that I've started to talk about car cleaning products. In fact, I'm a little concerned too

Hardtops - do they spoil the 'line' ?
should I :-
a) squeeze Z into an already tight garage and piss family off with access to bikes etc?
b) splash out the £1000? for a hard-on for the winter?
c) get a good quality (roof or whole) car cover ?
d) do none of the above, as the standard rag top is perfectly capable of coping with a British winter and I'm just being an old woman?

(leaves are falling onto my precious AS I TYPE  )

Hi and welcome. I personally don't like the hardtop but many people praise them around here. I don't think you really need a cover as the rag-top is pretty well insulated.

I would only get a cover if your parking the car underneath trees which are know for bird poop and/or tree sap. Thats the reason I got my car cover and it keeps the ragtop looking very clean!
