One thing I need to ask, what are servicing costs like? I've had a look and found a few local places that would be suitable for it (B&M Care and CraMag in Leeds) but how much would a service cost me?

Thats not too bad then, pay around £150 for my 147 
I take mine to Alec Morton at New lane Garage just off Dick Lane in Bradford....he has been a BMW specialist for years and has done all mine and my dads BMWs for years....family friend but I have recommended him to others on the forum who have used him and been very happy.....the difference is he is a proper mechanic, not just a fitter like at the dealers. I bet it costs less to look afta than the Alfa....trust me....I've also had a 147 and it was 10 times the trouble and a fraction of the fun....tho in its day it was the best looking hatch you could buy so I can see why you still love itKiller2005 said:Thats not too bad then, pay around £150 for my 147

There has been a few a niggly things but never anything major, and it the only time its let me down was when the crank sensor went, but apart from that its been brilliant. When I bought it i was told I'd never be out of a garage with it etc etc, but its never happened.
