Hi to everyone, great to be here.
I have recently purchased a 35i sdrive in glorious red, with cream leather and I absolutely love it
I've had a succession of BMW''S including e36, e46, a lovely e89 Z4 3.0i which I exchanged for a e46 M3, what a machine that was, and that sound is sooooooo addictive
I spend a lot of time on this forum reading through the articles, so I decided to take the jump and tune the 35i "a little bit"
After buying some decat downpipes, and ordering a larger intercooler and sorting the MHD app, cable etc, I had the car booked in to have the parts fitted, turns out the pipes didn't fit at all after taking the original ones off!, which is a massive amount of time and labour charges, so I decided to have the original pipes de-catted while they were off.
All put back together with the new fmic to be told that the power steering wasn't working, the "specialist " (I use that term very loosely) said " oh yeah mate, I googled it and it's a common problem on these cars, bye"
As it turns out it's not that common on the e89 and there are no serviceable parts on the rack, it's a new rack job at £2600
Any way, to cut a long story short I have managed to find a 2nd hand rack at a fraction of the price, so hopefully once that the turns up I can start to enjoy the new tune and get out on a few meets etc
