Newbie Hi everybody

Many thanks all...Have ordered chrome tailpipe piece from stealers £46 quid but think the car deserves it, should be here on Friday. quite enjoyed cleaning under the bonnet, under the grime everything was like new. keep em clean inside and out guess I'm a bit sad but you do notice if anything is
out of order. have cleaned up wheel hubs and painted them I had to use rubber hammer to remove wheels they were really stuck on to the hubs.
painting callipers will be the next project. Had a few short runs and boy o boy was it good.
more update pics coming shortly. cheers Barry :D

Hi all picked up my exhaust tail trim today, fitting was straight forward just little tap with rubber hammer and tightened grub screw,
really finishes the rear end off, am well pleased. cheers Barry
p.s. as second car with Esure insurance fully comp was £165-17 that was a real bonus :)DSCF0422_zpsc99af91e.jpg

Hi Barry welcome along it looks like the modding bug has got you! Exhaust trim this week stubby next then a big turbo blacked out windows and big wheels :)

Cracking looking car great colour combo

Thanks guys its sure brought a new sparkle back into my life, I've been pining for another drop head for a few years. Am now kicking a few idea's on getting the front end up and doing some exploring, i intend dropping the engine oil and changing oil filter in the near future, also on the cards is the removal of the CDV I like quick but I also like smooth. Cheers all Barry
P.S. I do appreciate the valuable tips and info from the forum. :)

I will be interested in hearing your findings re. cdv removal on the 2.0. Toyed with the idea but would like to hear if there is a significant difference.

Hi Guys been shopping (again) 1 oil filter .5ltrs BMW spec long life oil. another set of 2 ton rated stands. 1 can foam leather clean and conditioner and a can of tyre care spray.
I love the N46 engine its half as lively again as my 2,0 ltr S3 coupe. I intend to change oil and filter every two years regardless of mileage. Being retired I have plenty of playtime as every day is a Sunday to me :D
Cheers all Barry

Love the exhaust tip Barry! Really finishes it off and is a great contrast to the colour of the car!

Greet looking car and welcome :)

I 'm not to far away from you, I live in Rotherham so if you ever fancy heading out for a drive am sure we could manage a pint somewhere

Nice car - enjoy :driving:

Pleased to see that your improvement programme dies not include replacing the whippy

Many thanks for the nice comments guys , today jacked the rear end up to id the drain and filler plugs on diff and gearbox to make sure i had the tackle to remove them diff were recessed allen types and gearbox surface allen types, prior to changing oils, i then squirmed around with camera and took macro pics of oil type label on bell housing /gearbox, it read MTF-LT-3 lifetime oil. there are plates and covers everywhere, in time i will remove them one at a time and have a look see clean up and check all fastenings,
Whilst car was raised i spent an hour applying a bit of wax oil to rear suspension bits.....Happy motoring all Barry :fuelfire:
