Hi all, on the look out for a Z4, maybe doing a deal with a guy in the next week or so for my current car (Astra VXR)

Just been doing some research into the car using reg/vin ect.... It's a 2006 2.5si and its showing power as 160? Is this correct for this engine? I was under the impression they were around the 200 mark.

The 2.5 is a slippery one as the power output varies quite a bit , therefore important to make sure you get what you think you are getting before you hand over the ££ .
Wiki is a great place to read up on the whole Z4 scene but copied here for you is the relevant 2.5 info :thumbsup:

As mr wilks has said 2.5's are a bit of a minefield - probably best to drive the one you are thinking of and see if it gives you enough performance. (If you haven't already found it there is a buyer's guide on the E85/E86 section of the Forum).

From what you have posted it shows as an Si model with the N52 engine, so the 160 quoted for power will be the KW value, so it's got 218 PS.

Yeah thanks had a look through the buyers guide.

I just thought then will the 160 power be in KW, so yeah makes sense. I'm happy with 218ps

Yeah I'll be sure to upload to pictures when I get one

Wouldn't worry , 2.5Si is the one to have ( also has 6spd g,box / previous 2.5 only had 5spd ) & that shows the car is the 218bhp version :thumbsup:
 
Welcome to the forum :) . I have the 2.5si, and love it. It's the 2.5 to have as mentioned above. Great mpg, I get 33-35 on a long run. I did consider the 3.0si as it's a very similar car to run cost wise, the tax and insurance are what did it for me personally. 218PS is plenty to of power to have heaps of fun, and the power is useable.
