Hi All

Been lurking around here for a number of months, doing my homework (huge amount of knowledge on here) and now feel this is a good time to take the plunge.

Been looking in the UK over the last number of weeks and think I have found something so will be making some plans to view it...

Its a 2015 Z4 28i auto with connected drive... 33k miles. Have not seen any in IRL with many of the Z4's with little or no spec.

I was initially looking at the 2.0 181bhp but in good old Ireland, chipping it and insurance may not be the right route to take, so looking at a 28i. Road Tax same as 181 Bhp. (chipping process in UK seems to be much better understood)

Question for any of the Irish guys on here, Anyone bring in a 28i from UK and what VRT was payable as the 28i model is not selectable on the VRT estimate site.

Keep up the good work.

Welcome to the forum, as you say, there is lots of info on here.
As you have been lurking for a while, you must know the requirements for photos once you get your new baby.
Good luck with the viewing

Back again.....

Finally picked up my Z4...28i Auto...what a great drive.. :D :D :D ....D0059876-AD3C-4CC1-83C8-DB939899E116.pngAA9972FB-F217-441F-B1CD-4441D58F4096.jpegE5300DAB-F2EF-4DAC-9AAA-A5BB08A9017C.jpeg

UK Import with miles, so i need some help in getting the KM on Digital dash....Any guidance on how this can be done...

I also want to add a remote boot opening switch in the footwell.....so will be doing lots of searching on here.

Congratulations on the new car, that interior looks fabulous! I used Carista (phone app) to put the digital speedo in the dash, once you do that you can change the units of measurement for speed / distance from miles to KM and voila you will have digital speedo in KMH. I was in a similar situation to you where I imported a UK car to Spain so needed the speedo in KMH. There are other apps that will do the same such as Carly or Bimmercode.

Hi Bluetooth
Love the car! I was looking at a 2.0 but also didn’t think insurance would go for a mod.
How did the VRT work out? Similar to a 2.0? Maybe they didn’t even notice? Same emissions.

Thinking of a 4 cyclinder cause the tax on a 6 cylinder is just a killer here.

Looking about 2012. Auto seems to be the way to go.

Thanks

Hi Scirl

The 28i is not on the VRT estimation site, so I checked it in and am currently awaiting a call for the VRT amount. Obviously, they noticed - I have done some estimations based on car costs and differences between the 2.0 and 28i. So will need to wait and see...

The 28i has a lovely sound to it with lots of grunt to get your license shredded, its not a straight 6 but hey its Ireland !!!

Thanks Bluetooth!
I’ve looked at a few here in Dublin and test drove one in March that never sold, went to auction, went still too high in price, and then appeared in a couple different dealers. (Was a 3 owner UK import but is being advertised as only one previous owner here 🧐).

Hello bluetooth

Welcome to the forum!

I am in Dublin and imported my Z4M Coupe from the UK. I also managed to get a 50% refund on the VRT originally paid.

Feel free to send me a PM (we can exchange phone numbers) if you want to discuss, maybe my experience can be of help in your case too.

A
