Hi guys! New member here from Cardiff. I have just bought my first z4 which is a 2.5i in grey, bought with a broken roof pump (suprise suprise) :D :D have attached an image below although I'm not sure if it will work as I'm posting from my phone...

Welcome on to the board. Who needs a roof motor any way. Perfect time of year to be out topless.

Alas your photo has not uploaded, so no idea what your new P&J looks like.

Hi and welcome OP.

Thanks for the photo (which as you should know by now is pretty much mandatory).

Looking forward to some good ones - when you stop driving it long enough!

Hi and welcome! Hope you can get the motor sorted... weather has a habit of turning... like today!

Thanks kis and paddy, yeh apart from the roof motor issue it's lovely, seems to have spent the majority of its life garaged :D and yep I'm glad I did the roof motor relocation earlier in the week otherwise I'd have been looking for a large umbrella to cover the car  just need to get the motor/pump working properly now :scratchhead:

Motor for the roof? There's hydraulic fluid that operates it (much like brake fluid for our brakes). Might need topping up? Have a look into it, never been a problem so never looked into it myself... but I know about it (of sorts)! Hope that helps you out!

Oh wait? Your roof motor doesn't work at all? Is that what you mean? Diesel bath I've heard helps revive motors...

Thanks blackabbot!

Kis - Yeh I think I've narrowed it down with the help of the forum to a problem with the ports on one side of the hydraulic pump, but I did check fluid levels and did the diesel bath which helped to free up the motor somewhat
