Newbie from VA, USA

Hello Z4-forum! :trampoline:

I'm just a newbie from Virginia and I just now noticed that most users here are from the other side of the world :P I bought a 2003 3.0i Z4 about two months ago and I LOVE it!

First BMW, first manual car, first two seater, first convertible.....the list goes on and on! :) I came from a Lexus IS300 (autotragic :( ) which is a 4 door "sporty" sedan and it was aging pretty quickly (165,000 miles on the odo) so I decided to shop around for a new car. I was feeling a bit ambitious and since I'm young and don't have a family yet--why not get a impractical car? :P

I cross shopped the Nissan 350Z, Honda S2000, Infiniti G35 and Mazda RX-8. And let's just say my favorite out of those was the S2K....except I couldn't fit in it comfortably since I'm 6ft :( :headbang: So finally I stumbled upon the Z4. I've seen it before but not much around here and I really loved the styling of it despite a few anti-bangle people out there haha. I drove it and instantly fell in love. It handled like a dream and I could actually FIT in it comfortably.

I'm glad to find a community that actually isn't dead! (bimmerforums....)

already on Mangowalk's eBay page ;). What's an ideal size to get? I actually do listen to the radio so a drop in reception would kind of stink--these have the same reception as the OEM fishing pole? :P

btw, thank you guys for the warm welcome! :)

I really love this car and I'm actually claybarring, washing and waxing as I type this via iPhone!

most go for 3" stubby.... I ve not noticed much difference in reception either
 
Hi, and welcome to the forum.

Ship is right, the US contingent seems to be in the minority at the moment. The stats suggest a good percentage of new members are from the USA but they tend not to post as much as the guys this side of the pond. I am not sure why that is, but everyone is welcome :D

Thank you guys, I just got a 3" black rubber stubby on the way :thumbsup:

Now I'm debating on a black grill with chrome surrounds or keep the stock chrome....hmmm
 
I'm another one from the Old Dominion. Williamsburg area. Purchased my 2003 3.0i about four months ago.
 
dont think i have ever seen such a deep shine on a black car. Very nice looking car you have there !

You're not alone...I live on the other side of the pond, but I'm from Fairfax, VA. Just bought my 03 Z4 3.0i about two months ago as well.

We'll have to compare notes as we go along.
