Well its a different beast altogether to be honest!

The ST was a brilliant car and great fun to drive. Main difference in performance is that the ST was a 2.5l Turbo front wheel drive and the Z4 is of course fully aspirated with different torque ranges... to the rear wheels!

In terms speed, i wouldn't say there's a great deal of difference as both are blooming quick! But with the above in mind, the power in the Z4 will be much more predictable with the torque running all the way up to 7'000 RPM. The ST on the other hand was better performing at lower end torque ranges and was best to shift at 5'000 RPM. The turbo kicked in at about 2'000 and gave out at 5'000. But when the turbo did kick in, was like Armagedon! Sounded great too as 5 pot T-5's do! But so does the Z4. In summary, the Z4 just feels a more raw and more of a sports car!

The ST was a serious gas guzzler with combined really equating to 23MPG (instead of the stated 32 (like the Z4)) but so far the Z4 as i predicted is slightly better.

In terms of styling inside and out, the Z4 is hands down in a different league! :D

Totally agree i jumped from a 93 8v Auto Calibra so a big big jump a much quicker car much better braking and the car itself just feels solid love the styling love the interior feels really stylish a great place to be :D

Thanks for the welcomes guys... What a welcoming lot you are!!

Was hoping to find a nice Z4 forum as the ST one i was a member of (www.focusstoc.com) was also great!

Cheers for adding the photos PaulN and for the comments... I can tell you what a feeling it was picking her up! As i arrived at BMW as their showpiece outside, they had 4 black Z4 Coupes all lined up and i wet myself with excitement!!

Just can't wait to clean her! :D
