Hi all

I've just sold my Z3 and looking to replace it with a Z4 Coupe.

Hoping to brush up a bit on BMW knowledge as I'm more of a Nissan guy really (500+hp 200SX track car owned for the last 13 years).

He was down at AP-Tuning doing a photoshoot on my mate Gary Hayward's Time Attack Evo7 and grabbed a couple of snaps for me :)
 
I had the previous model 200SX - great fun but lethal in the wet :evil: :evil:

Love the Z3 - unique styling that still looks good - got to be a future classic !

Without putting up a great big list, the basics are: stroked 2.2l bottom end, 270 degree cams, Garrett GTX3071R with external wastegate.

Always thought I would own a 200SX one day but never have. Did own Cherry, Micra, Primera, Mk1's. Plus a mk2 Almera, that put us off Nissan, as it's had to many Renault bits that broke. :roll:
 
Time for a bit of advice please guys :)

Off to look at a couple of Z4 Coupes tomorrow, details as follows:

2008 Z4 3.0si Coupe (Currently at 54000 miles)
Pre delivery at BMW UK on the 15/04/08
Service at BMW on the 01/02/10 at 18229 miles
Service at BMW on the 23/05/12 at 35341 miles
Service at BMW on the 05/05/14 at 51244 miles

Do the mileages/dates all look ok? Anything reason for concern? Looking at the service schedule info on here, I'd assume that the inspection 2 is due next?

2006 Z4 3.0si Coupe (Currently 34000 miles)
Service at BMW on the 29/10/09 at 17083 miles
Service At BMW on the 10/06/13 at 28616 miles

Am I right to be concerned that this car has only appears to have been serviced twice in 8 years?

Welcome along. There are people who know more than me on this, but the first one looks to have been kept to schedule whereas as you point out the second hasn't. Unless you throw in a precautionary annual oil change, the intervals are 2 years or 20k, whichever comes first.

1st one looks to be complete.

2nd one has a late first service and missed a service in 2011.
