Newbie from North Lincolnshire

Hi all,
I have just bought a deposit down on this, a 2004 Z4 2.5, drives sweet as and far better than our hateful Audi TT 3.2 :D

I am a long time BMW owner and also have a '06 320d msport tourer as my daily driver and got the Z4 for the weekends when not out on the bike.
First job is to change oil and filters (just my thing with a new car), but other than checking the drains, any tipes on first things to check when I get it?
Cheers

Hi and welcome.

Nice looking car. Thanks for the pic.

Given your name you should search for "Zedward"!

Enjoy :driving:

Welcome barneybear,

Welcome to the forum, looks like you've go the perfect weekend motor there  I've never driven a TT nor fancied one - so you're not a big fan either then?

Welcome, I've also got a 2004 2.5 had it a couple of months, it may not be as quick as the 3.0 but it sounds just as good, also got a 320d touring with 250000 miles on the clock bullet proof !

No, the 3.2 sounds pretty good, but its real twitchy and manual box is awful, had a Jag XKR, Porsche Boxster, Mercedes SLK all befor the TT and they were all better to drive and own! Never again...And don't even mention the electrics, I actually left my scanner in the TT to clear the regular 'non'real' faults that always popped up!

I have come back to BMW simply as I like the brand (plus a trade discount at BMW is always nice

Your not missing much, I had one for years running as a company car. Not too bad on the motorway but don't show it a twisty road! Certainly not a real sports car

.....So, got to drive the car home from the garage and did another 40 odd miles today. I have to say, what a great drive :D

It just feels so well put together with perfect driving position, felt very good in the corners and no body roll or scuttle shake at all (very unlike the TT!)
We are proper chuffed and the only thing I want to do is liberate a bit of noise from the engine, thinking maybe a sports backbox? - Nothing too loud, just a bit more fruity. One happy camper!
