Howdy everyone!

Pleasure to join a site such as this. I have been looking over some of the topics and posts on this site and I would like to say, it is a much better source of info then any other forum I have belonged to in the past. I have learned a few things already! Four months ago my wife purchased a 2004 Z4 Roadster. As I love to tinker, it is slowly becoming one of my many projects. Other projects include a 1976 Chevy K5 Blazer and a sand rail with a VW 1600 engine. They are both a blast out playing in the desert :tumbleweed: as the Z is on the open roads here where you can wind it up to around 120 MPH without anyone caring. :D There seem to be a great many friendships here and I hope to make a few along the way. Thanks you to everyone who has helped me so far, along with those of you who will answer the great many questions I am sure to ask in the future. Look forward to talking to y'all in the forums!

Welcome and I am very jealous that you can give your Zed some beans without anyone caring! Great :driving:

This is the sand rail that has been slowly eating up my dollars and cents

It's a little cleaner now.

Hi and welcome.

How can that Sand Rail cost anything, there is nothing of it, just an engine and some scaffolding. :)

I'll have to take another picture of it. It currently has new exhaust, new timing pulley (the old one had no timing marks, what sense does that make?) new distributor and a new intake and carb on order. The engine is the part that keeps costing money! That and a new pedal assembly which are not cheap. It didn't necessarily need these things I just can't stop myself from replacing every little thing that doesn't function as new.

nice to have another person from this side of the pond.

Thanks! I was starting to wonder where all the Americans were! I see a few Z's here and there on the street and find it hard to believe not a one belongs to this forum.

Are sand rails available in the UK? Would you have anyplace to run them?
There could be a few place to run them and have some fun. I'm thinking early morning on Brancaster Beach, North Norfolk - before the tourists turn up. Am guessing the local heritage people may have things to say about that though.

That looks like a good time! We have all the sand but none of the water. If you go the wrong way you end up on ranch land and sometimes the are not to keen on you being there. Oops!
