Hi all,

I'm looking forward to joining the Z4 crew and very much have my heart set on a LCI e89 35is in white/black/grey with the coral red interior.

Not wanting to settle for the basic audio (which I've heard isn't the best), I'll be seeking advice on 676 audio Vs 677 before purchasing and much more after I'm sure!!!

Cheers

Welcome 👍

Lovely black 35is posted earlier today in the classifieds on this forum, albeit not with coral interior. Can't be too picky though as there's so few of them about.

Have fun with your search :D

Hi, welcome to the forum, and good luck finding your ideal Z4.

I don't know about the E89 stereo, but I've had an E86 with the basic stereo (6 speakers and 4x25W) and while it isn't brilliant it worked much better in the E86 than it does in my 3 Series. Possibly because the cabin is that much smaller!

From what I can make out the HiFi speaker system just added 4 speakers with Option 676 but the 677 Option called HiFi System Professional also adds a 430 Watt amplifier and both my other two E86s had that set up. It's loud enough to make your ears bleed, but the sound is also clearer and bass notes are much better defined. My current car also has the Sat Nav option so there is a 7 band equalizer in the Nav menu.

Seeing as E89s used the same option codes I suspect the differences are much the same.

Although I don't have the stereo on much in my MC, because I'd rather listen to the engine and exhaust note! I only tend to use it on longer drives at a steady speed like on Motorways.

Anyway hopefully an E89 owner will be able to provide a bit more insight.

Getting a lot of use from this picture recently

Thanks Mr Tidy, from what I've seen on this forum and elsewhere 677 is the way to go! Its just a case of waiting until one comes along :headbang:

Yes I found that picture online Timmy thanks, the only thing is most dealers don't think about taking many pictures behind the seats and where speakers 12 and 14 are located. I find myself having to ask most of the time. Cheers
