Hi All
Was looking for a Boxter as a second car but found I needed a 987 due to being 6ft 2...and the cost of a second car was likely to be ridiculous for my needs of Suns out= Top down.

Anyway -just posted in the "wanted" section and am actively searching daily on Pistonheads and Autotrader fro the right Z4

Hope to be a regular here -and will look to see if answers already posted for the usual Newbie questions before I make a fool of myself!

Genuine retired old fella having yet another mid life crisis (lasted 30 yrs) seeks well loved Z4. The normal stuff- cherished full service history mot'd well looked after and no problems with hood motor or coils etc with good bodywork/interior and nice alloys ( The odd minor alloy scrapes Ok cos i will only add to them )

Optimum spec

As late a model as poss pref <60k miles. Prob 2004-2006.
2.0/2.5 or 3.0

Black/Grey/ Silver preferred or the dark metallic blue (midnight?)
Leather-red / black or cream if in A1 condition
Heated seats (must have)
Electric seats
Climate control (Must have)
Xenons
OEM Windblocker (must)
All the keys
Happy for independent inspection just to prove no real probs looming
PDC
Upgraded spound system (yes over 50's play Lady Ga Ga too- although no hearing aid yet)
Sat nav (but not essential)

Would prefer to buy from someone who knows their car and wants to see it go to a good home. (My son is looking fwd to detailing).

Budget??? Variable depending on the right car but trying to keep it down as second vehicle.

Live near High Wycombe Bucks.

Please PM if you wish to sell and can fit the bill

Thanksegards

Go for the 3lt the diff in insurance and running cost ins't worth worrying about compared to the 2.5lt, my 3lt gets on ave 27mpg mixed mostly "spirited" driving (that's running on premium 97+) and if the drives too hard, non run flats make a big difference.

Thanks for the advice Dave -factor in mileage is prob <5k and MPG should not be an issue. I know Insurance for me on 2.0 is preety reasonable-not sure yet re 2.5/3.0 as have not obtained quotes. Assume Tax pretty similar on each?

There is also a 2.2 you could consider instead of a 2.0 if you are going between an 04 and 06. Has a 6 cl engine.. but only a 5sp box.

Electric seats were standard on a 3.0... most non-3.0 wouldnt have them.

As you want the PDC... better looking for one with a comfort pack.. as also gives in addition to the PDC; cup holders and possible steering controls.

Good luck in your search.
