Hi All,
I have been lurking on the site since October last year when I was first thinking of getting another sports car (after a long gap) and eventually bought my Z4 2.0i 2008 in late January. I have posted a few queries since joining and thanks to those who helped with their replies, and have been conscious of the fact that I have not introduced myself, or posted pictures, as is customary on the site.
So here are a few of my new toy. I believe it has a few extras, like the rear carbon thingy at the back, the tie bar in the engine compartment, and maybe the front spoiler bit, although I am not sure if this is standard or not.
I like it very much though, it is a great drivers car, and I appreciate the comradeship and help this site gives.
The pics aren't the best in the world, one is taken with a friends phone which is the best I think, the rest with my old digital camera which I now think needs to be upgraded!
I hope they are ok, i am still learning and finding my way round the site.
regards to all and "safe driving"
Clive

Welcome and jealous :). Lived in Lymington for a years year ago, moving away was worse decision I made, best regarding work but still miss the place

Enjoy the forum, it’s a great place to hang out and full of helpful members

Welcome aboard, I had a 5 year hiatus between my last sports car and buying my E85 back in 2015. Best decision I'd made in a long time, especially considering the relatively low price these cars are.

Hi and welcome. Good looking car and great scenery!

I went along to the Z4 day at Beaulieu last year - if there's another you won't have far to go!

Looks like its got the much sort after aero side skirts too  Welcome along

Thank you for the welcome everyone, I hope to meet some other owners if possible. I am interested in Marlon's post as when I bought it the dealer told me the vehicle had some extras which he thought would have originally been fitted to the car, and which he said were probably for the showroom visitors, and he pointed out the front as an example. I hadn't realised these were called side skirts (still much to learn!) but I did like the look and wondered if he was telling porkies and they were standard, but perhaps he was right and they were an option. Have to admit though, they helped with the sale! :)

They're not standard for that model, however its more likely that a previous owner has modified the car with the M front bumper (EDIT: I think?), the rear diffuser and the aero side skirts

Welcome. Great looking zed!
That looks like a Hamann front spoiler (?)
And can't help feeling that the look would be complete if the grill surrounds were blacked-out instead of chrome...

Welcome to the forum, great looking zed
Why not get booked onto the English Welsh meet and drive. Should be another fantastic meet and you will meet quite a few members too. :)

Thanks again for the welcome, and for the comments on the front spoiler. I must admit I am a bit stumped. I bought it from an Indy dealer in Dorset who said he had got it from a main dealer. He said he thought the front (and rear) spoilers would have been fitted when the car was new. The car has 45K with 3 previous owners each bought though BMW dealershops, and each owning it for about 3 years. All three were lady owners in or around London, but I have no way of contacting them thanks to the Data Protection rules. I checked the history with BMW and phoned the dealers where any previous work was done to see what I could find out, but I could not find any mention of the spoiler as being an option when purchased or any work done on it. The colour is an exact match with the car (metallic ruby black) but it seems from posts here that it is not supplied as standard for the model, so that's interesting. I will look up Hamann and see what I can find out.
Thanks for your replies, this forum is just so helpful and I appreciate your interest. I'll have a look at the Welsh English meet details, thanks. :)

I've had a look at Hamann's website, they don't list Z4's at the moment and look way too posh for what is on the front of my Z4, but having mooched around the web for a while I am pretty sure it is a "Duraflex Aero Look front bumper" which has been fitted and colour matched at some stage, so I think the mystery solved. :)

Hi, thanks for the offer :) It made me think though, ....I must be a real dumbo. I didn't know what Marlon was talking about when he mentioned sideskirts, I thought it was to do with the sides of the front spolier, but having looked at a few other pics it is beginning to dawn on me that what I would call the "sills" do look a bit different on mine, so I guess this is wnat is meant by side skirts. I must admit I do think they look good but hadn't realised that seems to be something else different about the car that I didn't realise I had!
What an eedgit!
Wonder what else is different...maybe it's not a Z4 after all :)
