Newbie from Hampshire (need advice)

I have finally managed to buy a Z4 from a forum member and glad to be back after a few years away!

Full details and photos to follow when I have uploaded them from my phone but the basics are:

BMW Z4 3.0i SE.
2003.
Black with heated red leather.
Sat nav.
Cruise Control.
Folding mirrors.
108s with Bridgestone Potenza RFT (actually not too bad for ride).
Stubby.
FSH.
New roof motor fitted last week.
New glove box lock fitted last week.
74k.

I have ordered a few parts and one was a 6 speed M Sport gear knob from BMW with part no B25117896886 that I thought was a stubby version. It appears to be from something like an E46 M3 and is the same length as the swan neck that is fired as standard. I am looking for the smaller one, I think it has a silver collar at the bottom, which may be on the E60 5 series etc. Leatherz do the ZHP version which I believe is the one but do BMW do an OEM part?

If anybody knows then please shout.

Thanks,

Dan

Great looking Zed! Nice spec - good find.

Can't help with your enquiry but someone will be long to put you right.

Welcome (back) to the forum.

:driving:

Straight six,

I am down near Hedge End so about 30 mins from you - do we have any meets in the Hampshire(isn) area?

The part number for a weighted ZHP knob looks to be the same number as the one you have used. Looks like wrong part in correct part packaging :headbang:

That appear to be the correct number as you say.

OP I would return to BMW and get them to check.

Right number but wrong part it would seem!

They have re-ordered and the next one should be right.

All I need now is the handbrake surround and we are good to go with the colour change from grey to black.

ZHP gear knob and new gaitor fitted and it makes a huge difference. The quality of the shift is much improved and it just feels 'right'.

Really worth the outlay.
