Hello from Dubai!

I know I've listed 3 different locations now but I live in Gloucestershire and Lincolnshire, however I'm currently living/working in Dubai.

I return to the UK at the end of October which is when I finally get my 04 Z4 2.5i which I have recently bought at 77,000 miles!

I've been browsing this forum for a few months now since I became interested in buying a Zed and it has been extremely useful, from deciding to get the 2.5 instead of 2.0 or 2.2 to deciding what work I'll be looking to get done when i return to the UK, like the roof motor relocation amongst other things, so thank you for that!

Here's the pics:

I think I've done that correctly.

Also I'm already onto replacing the aerial

Thank you,

Well they seemed to be higher mileage for the price I was looking for, presumably because they're the more favourable.

Also my last car was the E46 316i, so for me the step from 1.8i to 2.5i will be enough to satisfy me I'm sure :).

Welcome OP!

A 2.5 will be quite a step up from a 316i!

I think you deserve some recognition for posting photos (which is compulsory on here) before you have collected the car - excellent!

I bet you can't wait to get back to the UK!

It was all going so well until you said that you were going to replace that slender, sleek, sensual aerial - you whippy murderer you!

If I overlook that major issue........hi and welcome!

Enjoy :driving:

Welcome , i had a 2.5 se for a while , good motor , drove great & is no slouch so wouldnt worry too much against the 3.0
It was the no 6th gear that i couldn't take to
Anyhow look forward to seeing the car on its new wheels  :P

Haha I do apologise but I can't help but feel reminded of R/C cars or dodgems with such a whippy aerial :P.

Yeah I feel like I'm going to wish there was a 6th gear when I'm driving long distance on the motorways, but my last car had 5 gears too so I'm used to the disappointment of missing a gear

I've already been looking at replacing the wheels, deciding the size, style, colour and condition is giving me a bit of a headache, current are 16" so I'm thinking of replacing with 18". An extra 2" makes a big difference..... apparently

Don't suppose anybody knows of any good places I should start looking for new wheels? Would be a big help

Well I have over 2 months off work when I return to the UK and Lincolnshire, so I'm sure I will be driving around ALOT

Well from my experience a whippy works, whereas a stubby might look pretty but doesn't actually work at all!

Hopefully you will find some wheels on here - but bear in mind tyres for 18s cost a fair bit more than for 16s!

I wouldn't worry too much about 6 gears - my daily 325ti is a pre-facelift so only has 5. :( But the OBC is showing 34.6 mpg so not really a problem!

Just enjoy!

We took a while to get ised to 5spd on our 2.5 as our other cars have 6, higher revs but its so quiet, you knida get used to it, no bother!
18" wheels look great on the Z4
