Newbie from Cheltenham

Hi folks. I’m a Z4 newbie from Cheltenham who just couldn’t resist a 2008 Z4 Sport 2.0. I love it already even though it has the wrong engine.
Only 46k miles and immaculate inside and out with the 18” split rims.
First thing I did was have an Inspection 2 service done as this is a keeper for my job which involves working from home and travelling 100 miles

Hi and welcome - you car is looking good!

I realise it's a bit short notice, but there is a meet coming up at Cotswold BMW - link here:- https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=113733

Welcome, a nice looking car, low mileage. I am sure you will find the forum and it’s members really helpful. Enjoy the upcoming summer with the hood down.

Hi and welcome, lovely motor, had my 2008 2.0i sport just over two years, there's not many people on this forum that like the four pot and I can understand why, when you listen to the straight six engine note and the added power with the bigger engine, having said that and although certain members point out pitfalls with owning the 2.0, I have used mine as a daily driver and put 13000 trouble free miles on mine and loved every minute, It had an oil service when I bought it then I had a full inspection 2 six months ago, might be worth mentioning to get the roof motor relocated to the boot, the only problem I have had with my Z was needing a new drivers side window regulator fitted, but they can go on any vehicle. Happy motoring :driving:

Thanks everyone for the welcome.

The roof motor was already relocated to the boot when I bought it.

Given the rusty state of the motor I suspect this was relocated after being brought back to life.

The relocation looks a bit agricultural to say the least - wrapped in carpet and squeezed into a cubby hole - is this normal?

ZHP gear knob is on the way plus a carbon clean and rolling road check-up.

Sounds like you've got the bug already.

Obviously not one of my relocations then :?

Welcome to the Forum and as Mr Tidy says, fell free to pop along to Cotswold BMW 9am on 2nd June and you'll get to see 50+ Zeds all in one place.

By the way, your relocation should look more like this:-

Thanks - already asked to join the drive out. Cotswold is where I take my bike for servicing also...
I’ll try and contact Number5 through roof motor Bristol to see about getting the relocation done properly and maybe a new motor fitted.
My roof motor installation is a lot less professional than that, currently.

I'll add you to the list for the Cotswold meet Stephen. I'm away next weekend, so make yourself known to me at the Meet and I'll give you my contact details, to sort your roof motor out.

The motorbike colour is BMW M48 Monolith Metallic Matt and it’s the main reason I chose that particular model of R nine T.

Is the procedure for relocation of the motor to the trunk "copyrighted"? Able to access motor through a hole without removing the top? Is it bolted in or just sits in a bag which could be retrieved through the hole?
