Hi, following four years of fun Mini ownership and a brief but disastrous flirtation with a SLK 320 I have just bought a nice, well spec'd low miles Z4 2.5 SE on . The Merc had a fab engine but the steering was routed through a pot of rubber bands and the thing dumped me at the side of the road four times in three months with electrical problems! The Z4 feels great and the performance and engine note are just superdooper.

I bought it needing to fix a front fog lamp, window regulator and headlamp washer nozzle/cap and would like to thank all for the posts on bumper removal in particular which are great. I saved a fortune on stealership prices buying a complete bumper off fleabay, taking the bits I needed and offering the remainder back for sale (fog lamp, washer, cover and bumper still there at the moment if these bits are any use - no reserve).

So far the Z has been a joy and for the first time in years I go for a drive for the hell of it! Bring on the summer.

Hi and welcome from another newbie :) What MINI did you have, were you in a club or on any forums? I've also been involved in the MINI scene for the last 4 yrs and still got 2 atm

Hi and welcome, now where are those pics :poke:

If I were you I would keep the spare fog light, otherwise sods law yours will either get cracked by a stone or get condensation.

Hi and thanks for the welcome, had a great drive today on some well loved rural A and B roads and have to say again what a great drive the Z is, I've had all sorts from classics like the Stag, MGs, Alfas GTV etc, MR2s, GTIs, Mini Cooper convertible, and the nasty SLK320, the Z has the poke, the mechanical feel and the road manners of all the best bits of these in one package - except..........the tugging and tramlining caused by the 17" runflats (I know it these that are doing it I've had them before urrrrr). It's spoiling B road fun in particular as it will do it on entry to a bend with ruts, seams or lines and makes for a little bum clenching at times. RFs will have to go and I will browse the forum for good suggestions.

New Z 2.5SE is a very clean 53 plate, 32k miles Sterling Grey with Black leather interior. Full BMW dealer history. BMW Turbine 17" alloy wheels with run-flat tyres, Business CD/radio (10 speaker) with multi-changer, Xenon headlights, electric windows, electric roof, heated mirrors, computer, wind deflector, air con with climate. :D
