Newbie E86 advice please

IMO if I were looking again, I'd go in order of... carbon black, titanium silver.
keep the carbon leather dash / centre console, and either amerone or the brown saddle extended leather

I missed a carbon black / brown interior example a few months before getting my sapphire black, still a little gutted tbh :)

Thanks for all the responses. Exactly what I was hoping for - owner's experiences.

I must say I was originally only after black - didn't really mind which 'variety'. Mrs Fugitive had also only granted permission for a black E86 - so that might just be my only choice! Now I am swaying a wee bit toward blue or silver. This is all very subjective though I guess.

I do like the paler interior shades but wonder how long they will stay looking fresh. My brother had a silver 330 with black interior. He thought it was way too dark inside - I thought it looked great. It's actually one of the reasons why he sold the car. Wonder if black & black is too much.

More info the better. Please keep it coming if poss. Cheers.
 
Mrs Fugitive sounds sensible. I personally thought black with black leather was a bit much, I loved the way red leather made it seem a bit more 'special'... imho

Black was not my first choice but the car was too good to miss / Fortunately mine was a garaged weekend treat & i liked cleaning it but if i was buying again
my choices would be grey/silver /blue or my favourite PY :thumbsup:

Heads up. I've just traded a black sapphire e86 with bi colour imola / anthracite interior . 35,000 miles . 2 owners .Full bmw sh . Located at south west dealership if of interest.

I'd been watching your thread on your car. It's a beauty alright. I've shown Mrs Fugitive your pics & she's still chuntering on about black. She might be turned to silver or blue but she's a no for red. This is a pity as far as I can see. She's quite, um, how shall I say, clear in expressing her views on this!

Your car is advertised at a very fair price. Can't see you having any trouble at all. GLWTS.

If the right car came up I'd be prepared to travel nationwide.

Cheers Fugitive,don`t do the black ! I`am on my last black car,ever ! had the last 5 in black,murder to keep clean. Nothing better than a nice clean black car,but don`t last for long :headbang: I have eroded the road away outside my house with washing black cars over the last 7 years lol

Not sure how close that is to Swindon Wiltshire but if you and Mrs F want to try out a 3.0si black coupe for an hour or so, as long as you have insurance you guys can have a go in mine.

I hope this doesn't come across as mean but I don't want you to sell your car yet. :D

Just wait a few months and then arrange to pick up your new motor at a dealership on the south coast. drive this down to my house. Collect some money, pick up your new car! all sorted. :thumbsup:

where is my insurance money!! :headbang: :cry:
 
my must have was a piano dash, i would now have either piano or leather

another thing i love is my bi-colour seats
 
That red & black interior from Taz looks awesome.

Mrs Rob saw a blue Z4C today. She even sent a text to tell me as much. Seems she likes the blue. Think she has definitely given in. She's cracked at last. :)

If it's a black one I get, I'll be looking for black or black/red interior I think. I like the red seats too.

If blue, I think that the paler colours might suit best.

Some great snaps on here have really helped.
