Hi Guys

Im picking up my black 2.5si roadster next week and ive been looking at two different suppliers of replica 19" csl wheels for the z both with falken 452 tyres (235 and 265), however the price and offsets are different. Which one sounds right?

mstyle (london): £1045 (silver) offset 40et front and 30et rear
they sent me this pic

prestige wheels (birm): £949 (silver) offset 44et front and 27et rear

thanks in advance

That's even got the BMW embossed stamp (above the ///M logo) that's missing from my wheels. Are you sure that's a picture of a rep?

well mstyle used to do velocity reps (which i got from them for my e46 coupe), apparently now they have a new supplier of replica csl wheels.

im more concerned about the offset though....which one sounds right?

Assuming they are a staggered fitment 8.5J on the front and 9.5J on the rear, the offset's mentioned have been designed with 'M' models in mind which run a narrower axle at the back and as a result those wheels can be percieved stick out of the arches abit to far on a standard car, do a search and there are loads of pictures on the forum of those wheels and offsets on standard cars and see what you think.

I recently bought wheels in the following sizes 19x8.5 ET35 Front and 19x9.5 ET45 Rear, which I think fit a standard car a little better, if that helps.

Also you might want to consider a 275 tyre on the back as a 265 on a 9.5J rim offers very little if any curb protection.

Thanks RichardG, yes i am looking at a staggered setup of 8.5j and 9.5j. Yes i did think that the offsets that they gave were orientated to m cars but both companies seem to think the wheels will fit fine!? As for a 275 tyre i didnt think it would fit!

I'm just looking for a set of 19" csl reps that wont cause any issues with regards to fouling the arches or pretruding them (illegally) so if anyone can reccomend a supplier for the wheels in the correct offset i would be very grateful.

Thanks

The wheels I have fitted, as you can see they are similar to the CSL's

And on the car.

However I can't recommend the supplier I got them through as he took ages to supply them and I know of another person who is now pursueing him through the small claims court as his wheels never turned up.

anyone with csl reps care to input? im still hearing contradicting info with regards to the right offsets for a non m z4. both mentioned suppliers are adamant that e46 m3 offsets fit z4's?

Have a look at this thread about CSL reps on non M Cars.

http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9794&hilit=csl%27s

People have fitted the OEM 'M' wheel to the standard Zed with no problems and the offsets would be the same/similar for the CSLs. I know they are 19" but I think they will fit fine.

To at least work right wrt track widths, the offsets need to be the same as the OEM staggered wheels.

There are CSL reps out there (good ones) with the non-M offset fitments setup so they look right... a few threads on here about it iirc.

Cheers

Dave

True, these may work with a stock suspension with some rubbing. But to fit your wheels properly for non-M cars you are looking for Front wheel 18 X 8 Offset 47 and Rear wheel 18 x 8.5 Offset 50 (from realOEM). Typically 40 offsets front and rear will work as long as you're not too aggressive with the width. I just got a set of BBS-LM replicas from modbargains.com Very happy with the price and I have the wheels shipped (air freight) from US to Canada and were at my door in less than 1 week. They also carry CSL reps as well. I spoke with Mike Brown ad would definitely recommend his company. Good luck with your search.

Heyyy, Ive got CSL replicas on my Z! Got them from mstyle! The picture they have sent you is of A genuine csl wheel though because as Raify pointed out there is a BMW stamp above the M// badge which my wheels dont have either!!! My wheels are the best thing i ever did, the quality of them is just unbelievable! I have the 19inch staggered fit (8.5j front and 9.5j rear) They look the absolute NUTS :D !!! They fill out the arches beautifully! Perhaps 2mm out the rear arch, but it looks mean :D Definatley go for it, best investment ever!!!

Mscrawley, looking good! I have searched for a european dealer with good CSL replica's for many weeks/months. Do you know if MStyle ships to The Netherlands or Belgium?

Thanks Nina, But i have come across some other wheels that were only released last week but are similar to the csl style.

However, i am very sceptical whether they will fit even though the suppliers are quite confident. I wont tell you yet which wheels they are, but its not the offsets i am concerned about (available in et40 to 45) its the width of the rear. They are only available in 8.5j and 10j. I will also be looking at 275 rears tyres as 265s on a 10j would leave too much of the rims exposed for my liking.

Touch wood the rears fit, if not im tempted to go with four 8.5's as i really like the look of these wheels. Hopefully have them fitted by sat so watch this space!

the 19" alpinas on the back of my roadster S is9.5" wide, et50

they sit pretty well tucked in the rear arches

et 40 / 45 on 10" wide should sit flush if not slightly tucked

8.5" are for the feeble

go for 10s
