Newbie checking in....

Bloody hell.

What a fantastic car the Z4M is. Simple as that. :driving:

I've been having an absolute blast in it since I finished my run of shifts. Compared to my old Impreza, this car just feels totally alive....

I'm also enjoying the "Dynamic route" option that I found yesterday in the Nav, I'm finding roads and routes I never knew existed around here..!!!

As Herminator has mentioned and is catalogued throughout the forum, the kangaroo effect is there, I've managed to mostly avoid it, but every now and again it gets hold of me, so a Zeckhauser(?) modded CDV is being ordered later today. :roll:

I won an S2000 aerial on fleabay which arrived this morning, but tried it this morning and the base of the new aerial is wider than the mount it screws into, so I'm wondering if I've been sent some random aerial? - Anyone able to confirm the base fitting? :(

I've also ordered a Pogo Alert too as this car is much quieter and more "grunty" at the top end, therefore more likely to creep up over the limit in the wrong area than my last car. Anyone got any neat installations/pics on their Z4 that they'd like to share....?

Lastly, should I have posted this spiel in another part of the forum........? :rofl:

How much is the new CDV and do u get a local BMW specialist to fit it?

I'll be calling these chaps in the next hour or so (New Jersey based it seems, so -5hours) to order the valve: http://www.zeckhausen.com/cdv.htm

I've got a local guy in my town who's a BMW specialist (BMS Dover) and as unscrewing a valve and bleeding a clutch isn't too high tech or M specific, I'm more than happy to let him do it. He services my 120k mile E39 and that runs like a clock, so he seems a good guy. I doubt he'll charge much. :D
 
You might just want to work out how much the one from the US will cost compared to buying one over here - I think CA Automotive do them now.

However I'd go out and buy a spare from BMW (about £8 each) and see how easy it is to pull out the restrictor, as from my initial look it looks like the restrictor is simply pressed in - although I don't yet know what pressure it'll require to remove.
