Newbie - Aux input

Hi all! Picked up my Sepang Bronze E85 on Thursday - over the moon with it

It has an aux slot just above the controls for the roof and heated seats etc, so I assume this was installed after, however I can't get Aux on the radio when cycling through modes? It's the BMW Business radio with CD Autochanger if that helps.

Does the cd autochanger work? Sometimes people run the aux from the cd changer port. So either try it on cd and see if it works or pull the stereo and see if there is a loose end for the aux which you can swap for the autochanger?

Got a pic of it?

This is the closest I have for now. The aux input is under the heating dials, where I have drawn my arrow.

I can give that a go! One assumes not too difficult to pull the radio?

Pulling the radio is easy once you have got the air vent out. There are two retaining clips on the “roof” of the vent that you have to disengage with a flat plastic tool or screwdriver, which you can just see by shining a torch upwards through the vent itself.

Main thing to check is whether the aux socket is actually connected to the back of the radio. You should be able to find a thread on here with a pin-out diagram. If not I can find one.

So! I clicked eject on the autochanger and it doesn't work!
Don't worry too much, a working autochanger is quite rare.
On the head unit, when you press mode does it cycle through to the autochanger? This is a different option to the cd within the head unit.

That's the factory fit aux socket (I wondered if there was something aftermarket going on) so I'd say the radio has been pulled out at some point and both changer and aux connectors haven't been reconnected.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Your car is something of a rarity as it looks like only 9 Sepang Roadsters came to the UK, so photos would be good!

Sorry, off topic but, where do you find the numbers per colour from? I suspect not rare but how many Rubine Schwarz/Ruby Black? Mine is 2006 E85

A forum member compiled a listing, but it only covers 3.0Si and M models - mind you that must still have taken some time!

Here's a link as the OP may find it helpful:- http://perso.numericable.fr/tonyz4c/

This is the cable I bought a few years ago. Probably easier to just buy the complete new cable rather than find the connector.

Thanks :-) I'll get one ordered.

The two missing connectors below the radio loom are the changer and aux connections.

Yep, found the cable our the back for the Aux Input, however have absolutely NO idea where the CD Changer cable is. Can't find it in the dash! Not too fussed if I get the aux sorted though :-)

Thanks for your help guys
