Good Evening Folks,

I'm in the market for a Z4 and stumbled across your great website- so much useful info!

I've seen a Z4 on autotrader and would like to know your thoughts on the price.

Hope that link works!

It looks to be good condition, quite good spec and low mileage but fairly old (2003) for £7995.

Realistically what should I be paying for this? Obviously the Spring time market will dictate the price a little, just wondering if it's a bit high/overpriced?

Many Thanks in advance

Sam

Why not take a look at the ones for sale on this forum, there's a very clean 2006 black one for sale right now

That one is priced extremely keenly in the current market - I'd buy it before someone else does :D

SReneaux,

Take a look at Bings in the for sale section - viewtopic.php?f=41&t=64057#p946693
You'd be getting a far newer model with everything sorted, 265bhp against 231, a known history facelift model for just a little more. It is higher mileage and an auto but well worth consideration - some prefer the auto and it is very well maintained - have a read through the extensive posting and then you can judge the price of the autotrader Zed.

:driving:

Looks pretty over priced to me. You should be able to find a good example of a pre Facelift for £6-6.5k

+1 - way overpriced IMHO. I would expect you could get a nice 3.0si for that kind of money.

Bing's has already been mentioned as an example - buying a car from a genuine enthusiast like Bing is always worth factoring in.

No doubt, the one Bing's selling shows all the signs of a well cared for Zed, and one you could be proud to own!

Thanks for your advice guys. I decided to take the plunge on that car and got the guy down to £7500, however on inspection of the engine bay I found a gunked up oil filler cap with a very small amount of mayonnaise type stuff, similarly on the dipstick.
Surprising as full BMW SH (only 45k), with an inspection 2 only 2000 miles ago. Guessing very small head gasket leak or breather system at fault, however had to walk away as I don't want the hassle.

Still looking for a nice honest 3.0 manual for upto £7500.

Thanks guys
