quite pleased with the results , looks a bit more beefy without being boy racer :)

i cut the pipes about 25 mm from the box, the int dia of the tailpipes is 76 the oem exhaust is 67 mm so my mate tacked them into position then mig welded all way round filling in the gap , my brother got the tailpipes , ill find out where from

if any one can make use of the chrome trims i had on before , they fit on to the oem pipes , i put a rivit in to hold them on , buy me a drink and there yours

Bugger, beaten to it by the looks of it! (Although you already have a set of chrome trims on your Si Mr Hutch, so don't me greedy! :P ). Are they the propper BMW exhaust trims? I'll have them off you if nobody else is!

the old ones are not genuine bmw trims , i got them from an "old skool " car shop near me newer car places dont sell them any more

I have the genuine OEM ones but are a Satin finish and are a bugger to keep clean, and mine are pretty knackered really.

Ah I see - I've been looking at the universal trims that you just slide over the existing pipes and tighten up (I'm assuming this is what they are?) but none seem to be quite the right size. Did you have to chop them down to get them to fit correctly Blackred? As one of the exhaust tips sticks out further than the other as standard as you'll be aware and I'd like to keep it that way?

they fit quite snug , im sure they are 67 mm , i put the trims level on these old ones then just riveted them into place the oem steel is about 4 mm thick and takes some drilling\cutting
