Hardtops rule :driving:

I have to admit that in 17 years i have never owned a rag top as always thought of them as a bit girlie ( always owned lotus Exiges before Z4MC) but i have managed to pursued the fiance to go on a driving holiday for our honeymoon via Spain, Italy ( Ferrari Factory tour) etc, so thought what better car than a Z4MR

I have to say having driven from Hastings to southampton on the back roads i have to admit that they feel the same and that is coming from a Z4MC fan!!!!
Just need to get the Gruppe n induction kit on and the AP brake upgrade as regular ring visitor!! ( any body selling AP's )
Happy days

The only slight main difference i do notice is the road handling but i have put Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tyres on and my old Z4MC had PS2's on!!

Nice car and nice colour ! For both ......

Just out of interest how 'fast' did the 335d feel in comparison to the Z4M .... ?

I may be changing to a 335d or 123d for work reasons and would be interested in your view. I am arranging a drive in a 335d but haven't sorted it yet.

I had the 335d re-mapped with the Blue Fin from Superchips and in a straight line with my mates E46 M3 it was quicker . it felt faster than the Z4 but just not as involving.
An amazing car and sad to see it go. And still retained 38mpg on a run.

Welcome back.

Out of interest why did you get the 335d remapped? This is something I've noticed on a few of the BMW forums I read - everyone seems to want to do it. From what I hear, a 335d is plenty quick enough on it's own. Or have I been mis-informed?

Welcome back! I think I remember drooling over the coupe when it was for sale! Lover roadsters too much though. Great looking M

Sorry to say this as I'm sure it wasn't a cheap exercise, but part of me is pleased to hear that you missed the experience and that its not just about the speed
(obviously the M is very quick, it just comes with a big whack of driver participation  )

...
I did get excited thinking this was a breaking story / announcement from BMW about a NEW Z4MR!

The 335 was more than quick enough but for £400 you cannot help but get another 40bhp and the same fuel consumption. It Is definatley worth getting done in my opinion that is. Totally transforms the car, and de-limites it aswell. Not much use in this country I know but for the regular trips to the ring well worth it.

With regards to the driving experiece the Z4MR/C are just another leval.
And yes I did prefere the white coupe I owned but in cannot go back in time. Really please with the roadster mind and very nearly went back to a coupe but thought I would try something new!!
So far really really pleased.

Dont suppose anybody is selling a GRUPPE M Induction kit are they?????

Drove a 335d today ... thought I would love it .... but found it incredibly ...well, efficient .... but totally uninvolving !! Quite swift but you don't notice - you are miles better off back with a Z4M !!!!!

Now, a 123d , well ... :P
