New Z4MR Owner

Hi everyone,

I have just purchased a 09 plate Z4MR in Alpine White (Quite Well Spec'd). Only 1100 miles on the clock, i am coming from owning a renault megane f1 r26 in white also. The megane was a fantastic car to own and drove like a dream. Will most definately miss it.

I just wondered in anyone could help me with a few things,
Will mine be one of the latest registered? (Havent seen a 09 for sale at all)
How much does the second service cost?
Average MPG?
How well does it handle?
Anything i should look for before i take delivery of the car?

Thanks, Laurence. :)

1) I guess so. :P

2) If you mean inspection 1 it's about 500-600 quid at a dealer if i am not mistaken.

3) Never figure mine out and dont monitor them on the onboard computer, if it's gets close to empty it gets filled. End of. Others say around 20-25mpg though.

4) Very well indeed although it does get slightly confused by exceedingly rough tarmac at speed.

5) Just have a browse around here and you'll find plenty of material to read.

Welcome to the club Laurence, i'm sure you'll enjoy it. Oh and post pictures ASAP!

Welcome! Very late registration and low mileage. great colour for the car as well. Hope you love it as much as the Megane. I average about 26 MPG but on a motorway run that can get up to over 30 MPG if I take it easy. Press 'sport' and drive it hard and that will drop to 16-18 MPG.
Enjoy

I have a black 09 plate - 600 miles on the clock.

Handles well, :)

Get a good deal?

Run in service done @ 1100 miles?

Welcome along.

They go well, but possibly won't give you the same confidence as the R26...Are you on RSforum/Meganesport/cliosport.net??

I've got a cliov6 as well.

Avg mpg in town is 19. on motorway about 26-27 sitting at 85ish.

I just got insp1 service done for 621£

I`ve been quite impressed by the MPG the Z4 M has returned. When I had a 3.0Si COupe it returned just a tiny bit less than the combined MPG figure release by BMW(think it was something like 0.5 MPG worse than the BMW combined figure). However, with the same style of driving the Z4 M has returned over 5mpg better than the combined MPG figure BMW released (28.5MPG vs 23.3MPG), this is according to the OBC and covering nearly 5000 miles

:worthless:

I get around 20-22mpg, i'm happy coz i'm enjoying my drive. So no worrries. My Insp 1 recently was about £560. u need to shop around and get some quotes. mine was a price match.
ENjoy the driving. spirited drive is what u need. forget about everythign else.

Hi - I have an 09 plate black/red leather Z4MR, 1300 miles - picked it up 10 Sept 2009. Loved it to bits so far.

MPG wise - the computer tells me 25mpg average but I seem to be forever filling it up - does about 350 miles per tank (about £55, I think) with mixed motorway, blasting and A road cruising.

Great car and handles far better than my previous car, an 03 M3 cab (as per my avatar)

The only bugbears are it's very blustery with the roof down - even with the useless wind deflector - and there is no room for anything inside - storage is dire.

You'll love it I'm sure - I saw a white one on BMW AUC a few weeks before I bought mine, may be the same one?

Enjoy!

Amazing, I have never got above 280- thats driving in France and when I stuck to speed limit at 75mph. I never get more than 220/tank. How do u guys manage that.

I've got to agree with that, how some of you guys get these figures amazes me. You must be driving very gently indeed. I'm never above 18/19 mpg in general use with a mixture of B roads and town driving. That can easily fall below 15mpg when I get the chance to expoit the performance properly. A few trips to France averaging a couple of thousand motorway miles a time has never seen me above 25mpg.

To be fair I don't hoon it around that much, most of it is normal driving with performance used on clear dual carriageways/country roads as and when - my M3 used to do 27mpg! Motorway cruising is normally at 75 ish.

I don't use it to commute though which will I'm sure you'll realise reduces your mpg dramatically.

hi guys,

Must say thank you for the welcome. As someone said earlier about the megane, I'm sure the BMW won't handle as well as the renault. The handling on that car is amazing. But the z4m is my first rwd car :) I'm sure the fuel consumption won't be muh different from my megane. Someone asked if I was on the megane forum, my username is lowermbowem on there. I must say I found the insurance reasonable too, apart from the road fund licence lol.

I'll get some picutures up, when I pick the car up :) it was on BMW auc and the plate starts with af09. Same one? Is the sports button just for stiffening the suspension?

I also want to get some csl rims, anyone know of a good place?

Thanks again, Laurence.

Come to think of it the white one I saw was an 09 plate with black leather and 3K miles, so wasn't yours.

Bet you can't wait to pick it up.

Ah ok, yeah i cant wait to pick it up! Next friday hopefully, if the DVLA hurry up with my new counterpart.

Laurence.

No same one, for some reason they were advertising it with far more miles on it than it actually had, quite why I don't know.

Did you get it from Specialist Cars? I was interested in it for a while, it was sold then reappeared for some reason. Very nice car though, great spec and looks ace in white. When you post pics everyone will be drooling.
