Finally a Z4MR owner!

Hi Guys,

Finally made a purchase for a Z4M Roadster. Dropped the car into BMWMAN for a vehicle health check which has come back perfect. Only issue is a slight vibration on the power steering. Booking in to have the car detailed by Staffordshire Car Care so that it’s all ready for summer drives

Cheers

Congratulations! I wanted a Z4MC when I bought my Z4 coupe, but my wife convinced me to get the standard coupe. Her point was it is a weekend toy and if I get the Z4M I will at some point decide running costs are too high to justify keeping a car I only do a couple thousand miles a year in and I'll sell it then bemoan selling it (I have form for this - lol).

What's interior is it?

Thank you. The car has been bought as a weekend car. Once lockdown eases I want to get some trips planned in. The interior is Champagne Nappa which is my favourite combo.

The car does have the Sat Nav which I was unsure on as I do like the clean dash without the Nav but decided to ease use of radio etc I’d go with the Nav

Nice. Mine's ruby black metallic and champagne and I do like the champagne leather as mine's a coupe and quite dark so the upholstery lightens it up.

And I bought my about 9 years back so it was £17k for my Z4C versus about £35k for a Z4MC at that time which was part of the reasoning as well.

Congratulations, where did you buy the car out of interest?

Thank you. Car was purchased from a private seller in London
I see, I thought I recognised the car, but the person I was thinking of lives in a village outside of Guildford (Surrey).

Welcome and congrats on the new purchase! Have you used SCC for a long time? It's not far from me as I'm based in Stafford so I'm interested in what you've had done there and ballpark pricing if you don't mind sharing. Thanks in advance.

Thank You! I’ve actually never used SCC but came across them due to reviews etc. Have you heard good things? I’m awaiting the final quote but have asked for a machine polish, ceramic coating on body, wheels interior etc and the interior detailed. I’d expect something around the £700 mark from other forum comments etc. Cheers

Hi and welcome to Z4M ownership.

Interlagos Blue with Champagne has to be one of the best colour combinations for any M.

The Sat Nav is rather ponderous, but at least they made the effort to build it in rahter than just stick a tablet on a bracket!

Hopefully you'll get plenty of summer fun. :driving:

Thank you!

Once I started looking into the colour combinations I decided it was Interlagos Blue and Champagne Nappa.

Yes true, not like the newer stuff. I do chuckle every time I see how old it is when it pops up. The phone ringtone surprised me as well!

Fingers crossed, looking to do a weekend tour around Yorkshire dales, Pennines etc.

I know what you mean - the first MC I looked at was Interlagos Blue with Sepang Nappa, but while I was still pondering it sold!

A few months later a forum member was interested in a Black/Black one 150 miles away, but as it was only a mile from me I went to look through the Service History for him. The trader fired it up and said he'd see me in a while - that was it, I was hooked. But never in that colour scheme.

But my choices were a bit limited by budget. I wouldn't have chosen Silver Grey but I love the Imola Red Nappa, and when less than 600 were ever registered in the UK you can't be too fussy especially when condition, history and price are probably more important.

Good luck with your weekend tour. I'm hoping to do one in Wales some time this year.

I'm not familiar with SCC, sorry, that's why I was curious! If you're willing to travel to Birmingham then get in touch with Beedub: https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=103467 I haven't used him yet but I'm sure plenty of members on here who have would vouch for him.

Oh, and if you want to do a cars, (probably outdoor) coffee, and a run out from April onwards then please post something on the forum as I'm desperate to get out in the E86 or the MX-5 when it's safe and legal.

I’ve got myself booked in with SCC so I’ll keep you posted on the progress with some pics.

I’ll create a topic once we know we can meet up etc then. A couple of my mates drive Z3’s and we’re eager to get out for a drive / meet soon!
