Hi guys, I've been lurking on here for a while and after a few months of looking around for the right car, I have finally become a member of the z4m club! :)

Picked up a very well looked after roadster in interlagos blue just over a month ago. It was the previous owner's weekend toy and spent most of its life in a garage. He also made a few choice upgrades to it - Eisenmann exhaust, AP brakes and better looking wheels. They aren't quite csls but I can't I'm a fan of the standard 'm' ones anyway.

I'm slowly getting used to it. Coming from a new shape Audi S3, the change was quite drastic. I kind of miss my recaro buckets and the smoother gearbox but the lovely noise I get with the roof down makes up for that.

The car has only two downers for me - there are some cabin rattles which I just can't seem to get rid of (my old S3 was completely rattle free!) and the paint finish isn't great for an ex 50k car.

Roll on more sunny weather for top down motoring :D
 
Welcome, you'll need to get used to the rattles, but don't worry the engine soon drowns them out :)
 
Welcome, Lovely car and be good to see some more pics when you have them. Dont worry about the rattles; you'll come to love/ignore them. One thing you can try first is move/tilt the seats so they don't rub on the interior plastic.
 
Welcome, nice car - great choice on the exhaust? Sport or Race?

Will keep an eye out, although you shouldn't be hard to spot with those wheels :thumbsup:

@ inkey - moving the seats was the first thing I did. To be honest, the only rattle that is actually annoying me comes from the satnav housing. Sound like a small ballbearing rattling around. Might take it apart to see if it solves the problem.

@ pawn - it's the sport version. Race would be a little too loud!
 
Weyhey another Reading local! Jealous of your AP's. I'm going to be searching for some soon :D A few of us go out for local blats from time to time so if you're in the mood just drop me a PM! :P

Great colour :thumbsup: ! How are the AP's? If you've tried the car with standard brakes: have you noticed any change in pitch under hard braking?

For the ZF gear box, it is quite short in town needing precise and considerate footwork, but I found it great when in the swing of things (even 1st to 2nd just needs 2200 rpm for smooth upshifs). On full attack shifts are very instinctive and positive.

Rattles? :P
 
nice..... all the right mods as well imo!! ive got the APs, 6pot front and 4pot rear and i can honestly say im shocked how good the car brakes with them!! Alot of the braking has shifted rear ward also ive noticed the car dives far less than stock!! The car stops on a dime!!

On a stock car thought the stock items are amazing, really strong braking, its only after prolonged use they seem to wilt......the same setup on the CSL gets really bad press.

@ playalistic - the local blats do sound good. i know of some good roads around here but i'm sure you lot can introduce me to some more! if i'm free on the day of the meet, i will defo try and turn up

@ chaw - i didn't actually try a car without the AP's, was only a passenger in one so didn't really get a feel for the stock brakes. i really noticed them for the first week or so while i was getting used to the car. needed far less pressure on the pedal than my old S3.
 
Got to say I love the stock stoppers for pedal feel - really nice to modulate on the raos. Not sure what there worth on the track with that rubber piping though Beedub?

If they really are the CSL's set up I cant understand why such a track forcused as the CSL does not have metal pipe tubing? :?
