Hi guys, petrolhead and first time Z owner just took the plunge and purchased a Z4M coupe.
It's an 06 car just turned over 50,000 miles, beautiful interlagos blue exterior, genuine 19" CSL wheels and black leather interior with aluminium trim.
Full BMW service history with last service the full inspection 2 at Munich Legends. Not due an oil service for another 6000 miles.
Previous owner just spent £1000 on new front discs and pads and replacing a seized caliper. Also had new Falken FK456 tyres fitted all round at 49,000 miles.
Pretty high spec example with sat nav, DSP sound, heated seats, cup holders (!!) etc. (plus a whole bunch of other stuff I can't be bothered listing!)
Loving the car so far, I've owned other fast cars in the past but the way the power is delivered along with the noise from the engine is just brutal! My only gripe so far has been the very occasional denial of 2nd gear when shifting from 1st to 2nd but I have plans to try and minimise this.....
After trawling the forum for advice I'm getting it in for a service this week with a BMW M specialist I trust more than my local dealer. Plan to change gearbox oil to Royal Purple synchromesh and go as per BMW for the engine and diff oil. Getting him to fit vibra-technic front engine mounts and rogue engineering gearbox mounts at the same time.
My mates run a company selling coilovers (not sure about forum rules if I can mention them or not?!) and have kindly obtained a set of BC racing BR type coilovers (adjustable height, damping and camber) which I plan to fit along with 10mm spacers all round. Laser wheel alignment and fast road geometry setup to follow - not planning to track it just enjoy it on the road and potentially use it as a show car for my friends and their business.
That about sums up my plans for now! Undecided on carbon fibre intake, aftermarket backbox or CDV delete (forum seems pretty split on this!) but give me time! Haven't had the opportunity to take many pics so just have a few for you guys. I'll make sure to post some more pics of the car once I have the work done. Might be my first post but I have been studying this forum for a while so thanks to all the guys who post on here for the advice I've stolen! Cheers.
