Hi all,
I say new owner but actually picked up the Z last January. I was actually looking for a Noble M12 at the time before a former forum member made me an offer I couldn't refuse
.
I saw the car twice before buying it and having done all the usual model research it seemed spot on. It was originally a UK press car which didn't really make any difference to me as it means the running in service was done by BMW and no corners cut prior to its first owner delivery (who I ended up buying it off). It then has all the right stamps in the book, a list of bills and warranty work with fully comprehensive warranty still running. Since I've had it, touch wood, it hasn't missed a beat.
I'm not a big one for mods and prefer the OEM look personally. However I am a big fan of the brake conversion done on this one, running 996 911 calipers and lines. I normally do a handful of track days a year so will be interested to see how they hold up but they look the nuts. Also get a lot of positive comments from the eagle eyed enthusiasts.
Thoughts so far - absolutely love it! Great fun on a quite B road, comfortable on the motorway and it will be a hoot on the track. It also is surprisingly practical, holding 2 full bags of golf clubs and weekend bags. I even managed 2 hold alls and 2 pairs of skis much to the detriment of my passengers leg room. Bad points - living in London I miss the DSG gearbox of my old Audi for crawling between traffic lights (yes I know a manual is more fun but for town driving a DSG is a fantastic piece of kit). Also what is the point of the sports button, it makes the throttle too snappy and seems a complete gimmic on what is meant to be a focused sports car in the M range.
Anyway, hopefully see some of you around and I promise to get some better pictures once I get round to washing it!
James
