New Z4MC owner from Lancashire

Hi everyone - picked up my Z4MC last week and been enjoying it all weekend. First impressions are great and it feels significantly quicker than my previously owned E46 M3. I'm not sure if that's true (less weight) or just my perception (smaller car and closer to the road). Either way it feels great.

This looks like a great forum and I found useful advice prior to purchase.

I've been considering the CSL wheel upgrade just for looks alone, but after many miles last weekend I'm wondering whether to stick with the 18s as it rode so well. Different cars, but the Z4MC on 18s ride is much better than the M3 on 19s.

Other jobs to get around to include BT pairing the phone (I don't have the code), possible music streaming, tidying up the steering wheel plastics and replacing one of the horns as one tone seems to be missing.

No real rush as I'd rather be out enjoying the car.

Cheers - Ray

Welcome Ray :)

It's a bit of a job involving removing trim and speakers and peering into a tight hole but you can find the code in the car, worth doing a quick search on here or google. :)

Hi and welcome.
Currently considering an M coupe after originally looking for a 3.0 coupe.
Looks like a nice example u bagged. Mind divulging how much u paid and mileage?

Hello and Welcome ! Where abouts are you ? I am in Mawdesley, West Lancashire. Quite a few of us on here in this neck of the woods. You will have to come along to the next meet up/drive. Nice //M Coupe by the way !

Yes, quite a few woollybacks here strangely!

Hi and welcome to the forum

You're right about the 18" wheels they do ride considerably better than the CSL's but the look of the CSL's is gorgeous 8) you make your choice between comfort and style! :driving:

Nice buy & plenty of places to enjoy it in Lancs :driving: can't go wrong with a silver grey Z whether roadster or coupe
Any more details on the car ? Miles ,spec ? My pal had one its twin which he had to sell 12 months ago & i know it was recently for sale again

Welcome along. Great taste  The CSLs transform the look of te car to me , but as others have said, you really sacrifice the ride on our roads.

Where abouts in Lancashire ? There aren't many around Preston, that's for sure. I love taking mine up there to see family/friends.

Hi Ray, and welcome to the forum.

Lovely looking Z4MC you have there - I'm sure you will get an official welcome to the exclusive Coupe club soon!

And putting a photo in your first post avoids the attention of the photo police.

Thanks for the great welcome :D I knew that pictures were mandatory having browsed the forum, so here's another!

More details on the car - Sept 2006 car with 50k miles, 1 previous owner, FBMWSH. Interior is spotless (apart from steering wheel plastics), a few shone chips on the front, otherwise looks like a new car.

I'm on the Blackpool / Lytham border - I'll keep a look out for any meets.

Welcome along!!! Gorgeous car! Silver grey is one of the best by far. It can look dull in overcast light but get some sunshine on it and its two tone.

My old one was Silver grey with CSLs I didn't think the CSLs made much difference on the ride but mine had H&R springs and was already pretty spine shattering.

Just incase you needed another incentive for CSLs :P

Tom's photo's are all the motivation you need to get CSLs. They look great and in my experience don't reduce the ride quality too much. CSL reps are an option, £500 - £600 and they still look the part.

Welcome by the way!

Hi Manfred - lovely looking car. I'm also in Lytham area, so might see you around. Another thumbs up here for CSL's. Not an M, but I'm sure you can use your imagination!
