Just thought I'd introduce myself after picking up my Z4M Roadster last month, the car had 25,500 miles, FBMWSH and is an 07 plate and after driving about 600 miles since have to say I'm really pleased with it.

Only thing that is niggling away at me is how quiet the exhaust is, this is something I hopefully plan to get changed this month, currently considering getting a straight through exhaust fabricated as I was initially looking at a RPI exhaust but £400 is a bit excessive for delivery as per their website, so hoping a used set comes up for sale on the forum (wishful thinking).

what a lovely coincidence!

the day I picked up my coupe from Sytner High Wycombe I saw that mr and drooled.

I can definitely say it is a lovely car, hope you have a lot of fun with it!
 
Thanks everyone, must say the Zed is very thirsty at 21.5mpg average (roughly 220 miles per full tank) but I guess that comes with the territory and the fact that all my mileage is town driving.
 
@NeilP: Thanks, I went in on the day it came into the dealership, went for a test drive and a couple hours later I had paid a deposit on it, was agonizing having to wait a week to collect it as it still had the private plate on it so couldn't take it home till DVLA had assigned it a plate, all is well and good now though :-)
 
Hi and welcome to the forum and all things Z!

Some of us have had a Back Box Bypass system fitted which gives the exhaust a some more fruitiness :driving:

There's a thread on here about it, you'll find it if you use the search function, put in BB Bypass :thumbsup:

Hello & welcome :thumbsup: lovely car & best colour combo imo :) I thought the exhaust was quiet on mine tbh but not too bad with the roof off, I miss the exhaust noise on the zed now though as on my E92 M3 you literally can't hear the exhaust at all only induction noise! It's strange not being able to hear an exhaust after owning a TVR! :driving:

Best colour combo :thumbsup: Originally I thought it was a little quiet, especially after a very loud Elise however as time goes by I actually prefer it. Don't think I have really heard an exhaust note on this engine I like over standard :(

Many would agree with you :thumbsup: & they say the exhaust should be left alone & dabble with the induction side of things instead. :driving:
 
Even with the roof down it just seems like the sound has been restricted in the sense that when lifting off the throttle you can hear the exhaust burbling whereas it would be nice to hear a few pops every now and again with the stock system.

I may well have to look into the back box bypass system as mentioned above as it looks as though it makes quite a noticeable difference when considering the cost of carrying it out.

This may sound like a silly question but is there a special cleaning product that needs to be used on the soft top? Just trying to prepare for the highly likely possibility of bird lime ending up on the soft top.

A lot of people go for the ease of the all in one kit from autoglym. I have had great results using the cleaner from renovo via eBay and using a thick paint brush and then scrubbing with a nail brush. Reproof using granger fabsil. Gets a lovely bead which with the current weather is being tested well!
