New Z4C owner

Hi all,

Got my first z4 a few weeks ago so thought I’d best join the forum having been a long time lurker!
Wanted a z4C for years but house purchase, classic cars and weddings have got in the way but I fianlly got round to it and it was worth the wait.

Always wanted a coupe so took a good few months to find the right one, not exactly what I wanted but close enough for the money.
It’s a 2008 sport spec, 88k with 12 months ticket. As with any car, there is plenty to be getting on with, but so far I have added the obligatory stubby, swapped the 108’s for MV2’s and gave it s machine polish, wax and engine clean this morning!
I was lucky enough to get the mv2’s off a forum member yesterday morning.

Yes first clean of the MV2’s today took some time! Couldn’t resist the looks of them though.
Yes the whippy is staying on the mini, if only to make putting its garage cover on unbearably annoying :lol:

Must admit wasn’t sold on the red leather on purchase, was keen for black or champagne but when inside it appears less ‘loud’ if that makes sense.

I can relate to that, my 1st Coupe had MV2s and I'll admit to a stubby!

I really like any colour seats other than black, especially in a Black car. My Ruby Black one had Pearl Grey, but I would have preferred red - it looks great.

But red seats wouldn't really work with Montego Blue paint. :lol:

Thanks all. Question- tried to remove the 3.0 SI badge off the wings. Did the first and it left an impression on the paintwork underneath which seems to be part of the paintwork itself despite having removed all the leftover plastic / glue. Is this normal?
Looks like I am going to have to get a replacement unless I get it sanded & sprayed

The z4 badge came off easily without issue.

Time for an update. 2,000 miles done now so starting to get a feel for the car and really enjoying it. I do mostly motorway to work and am averaging 38mpg!

Since my last update- got the front bumper removed, sprayed and realigned this week- side clips near to the wing had snapped causing extra panel gap so got that sorted along with the scuffs / stone chips,
Really pleased with the results, and for £310 including all the clips I was happy.

October- Heading on a 1300 mile road trip into Europe, over to Dunkirk, onwards to Brussels and Cologne and back via Bastogne and a few more places which take our fancy. Can’t wait. Any tips for the road trip?
Never been abroad in any of my cars previously so me and the wife are both rather excited.

Next-
Headlight refurb and new bulbs (standard bulbs seem pathetic?)
Rear bumper respray (crack on the one corner from previous owner bumping it) been quoted £250 for the repair and respray.
New Gear knob!
