Hi all pick up my new to me z4 today, it is a 2.2 se roadster and do far I love it, gears seem a bit harder to change and don't seem silky smooth like previous cars but I'm guessing that's normal? Any way can wait to speak with you all here's a quick snap of it

Welcome mate, yes the low gears do take some getting used to. Recommend a bmw zhp gear knob for shorter and more weighted shift. Dan

The hood looks like it's faded a bit is there any way of bringing it back?

There is a product called renovo that puts colour back, think you can get it on amazon etc.

Love the shot from the rear - your Zed looks good.

Your going to have fun cleaning and detailing it because it looks like it will come up really well.

You seem concerned about the gear change - there are a lot of different experiences and driving senses when you drive the Zed - yes it is 'different' from most other cars I've had as well. I've had 2 Zeds and both of them have a 'definite' gear change - it seems a little obstructive some times in the lower gears but try adding a little more revs to your take off and also slowing down your change by a small amount with a full clutch release until you get used to the new action and you will be fine - it's just a characteristic of the Zed. - I can tell you it is very effective at pace and I can't think of a change that has been missed whilst out in my Zeds and I drive my Zed a lot...enjoy!

Hello, you'll get used to the gear box, try search the forum for CDV delete which can improve the feel

One thing I don't like about the z4 is that the when opening and closing the doors it sounds very tinny, anyone else get that?
