New Z4

Hello,

Bought myself a 2005, 3.0, Auto 2 weeks ago from my local bmw dealership and am blown away by it. I had spent the last 3 months looking at Porsche Boxters resulting in me test driving several 2002 Boxter S's, which were fantastic cars. i had made my mind up on a Boxter S but just to be sure I test drove the Z4 and amazed myself by buying it the next day. Anyway after two weeks of driving fun I thought I had better give it some TLC and after some inspection realised the drivers sdie rear panel had been replaced, I called the salesman and asked if it had been crashed and was informed that it has been in a crash and that it was repaired at their official bodyshop and that I can see the invoices. I am told there was no structural damage but am a bit concerned about residual value with respect to this, should I be concerned?

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your newfound love!! :) :)

As for the crash, if the damage was only cosmetic, I would not worry about any residual value loss.
Ask them for a photo of the damage if they have one and you can judge for yourself if you have reason to be concerned.

Welcome to the forum...
Before I purchased my first Zed in 2003 I had driven a friend's Boxster a number of times and was leaning that way after driving about everything with 4 wheels and 2 seats available in my area. Then I drove one of the first 3.0's to arrive in my area and well... :sweetheart: I opened the checkbook... :P
Be sure to post up some pics of your Zed... :camera:

My Z4 had one new wing fitted before I bought it, and one after some git twatted it in a car park. No effect on residual, and you had to look *really* closely to tell it had been done. Don't worry about it, these things happen unfortunately, and it must be a good repair for you to only notice some weeks after.
