Sorry if somebody's already posted this, but I get the Evo mag newsletter and this caught my eye.

Hopefully this link works......www.evo.co.uk/news/evospyshots/210259/bmw_z4.html

If you can see it, it does look a bit, erm, butch compared with ours doesn't it? Almost TVR ish?

Cheers

E's Dad.

Wow, like the basic shape of that. Lets hope it is a Z4 and not a more pretiege model like the Z8.

The top is definitely not current Z4. The rear window is too sloped, and the side glass has the shape of the coupe. The fuel filler is also more over the wheel than in front of it. The muffler is on the wrong side, too.

It's a real mule, all right. The question is, "of what?"

Looks to me like the old Z4. Cladding is extended over the existing Z4...check it out.
Definitely not the "old" Z4.
- Look at the roof line; looks like a folding tin top to me.
- look at the drivers seating position... way ahead of the rear axle, compared to the current Z4

This is going to be a larger more up-market car than current.
JMO, but I think they're making room for a Z2 :D

Is it my imagination or are those brake discs twice the size of the current models?

http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=15116#p15116 this chap reckoned it's the new Z4 and he's seen it (also some posts on Zpost too). It sounds plausible to me.

A "test mule" was seen during Homecoming and in the plant. The one in the plant was a shell only covered by a very translucent cover. Very seductive.

That's a folding hardtop methinks!

Is there anyone who's expert at photoshop that could layer the current Z4 side profile and this new car together going by the wheels or the drivers seating position.

Then perhaps we can see the difference between them?

I hope it's not a folding hardtop. I like having a trunk ... even with the top open. Tin tops are trendy, but they aren't the best solution to every problem. They're heavy, too.

20ducks, a folding hardtop is likely? Could you tell?

Couldn't tell. There was a security guard next to it an no photos were allowed. :(
Awww. Pity Zee wasn't there, he could have chloroformed the guard for you, and you could have sneaked off a few piccies.

^+1
No tin top for me...
I'll go to a coupe before a tin top roadster

Voila! They're pretty similar ...

Everybody I spoke to at HC07 told me if you saw the spy picts you still don't have a clue what the car looks like. That came from BMW employees who worked on the car. Unfortunitly that's all they would tell me!
