New Z4 to get DCT gearbox [maybe]...

...apparently the facelifted 3 series is getting the dual clutch transmission so I would be surprised if it never made its way into the new Z4.

If BMW can get the looks right, a 335 engined Z4 with DCT and folding hardtop will be a great car indeed. From the looks of the 3 series, it will use the same paddles and sports shift as the sports-auto 5 series, which is the same as the Z4 interior spy pics that were posted last week, so maybe they're already testing it :)

Providing it isn't a) another car or b) photoshopped, the gear knob on the new Z4 looks identical to the 2nd pic (looking at pic on our home page).

On the 5/7/X5 they use this gearshift without paddles...

and on the 5 series, they use the same one as the Z4 pictures when they have paddles, it's a £100 option. So I reckon that the standard auto and the DCT might have the same gearknob as I'm sure both will have paddles, unless they decide to keep paddles for DCT, or maybe they won't offer both gearboxes, maybe just one or the other.
