I beg to disagree a bit on this. Whilst I got S&P thrown in to my deal and would never pay £400 for it, it is useful to have if you can get a good deal or buy the kit and DIY. Having read that BMW blacks were very "soft", I was paranoid about swirls (particularly as I have the ruby variant). 9 months and many washes later, there is no visible sign of swirls. I am very much at the lazy end of detailing but I just don't have weekend time now to the the job "by the book." To me this was a good compromise that keeps the paintwork very glossy without too much hassle. Just make sure you use a water filter on rinsing, and a very good chamois.
