New Z4 runflats

Hey folks, I posted a tread in the wheels/tyres bit, regarding 'tram lining' with run flats. Has anybody with a new Z4 had that problem, as supposedly the runflats are a 'new' design ?

No i havnt noticed any tram lining in my new Z, I chose to delete the Msport suspension which I think helps. My 330d msport was a shocker when the tyres were worn!

No tramlining on new Zs. Old Zs yes. Only issue I have with run flats is slightly harsh ride on 19", ESP if you hit ruts or sunken manhole covers. Cringetastic.

Thanks folks, it would appear the problem has been solved...looking forward to my test drive on Wednesday now :D

All my old zds tramlined especially as rubber begins to ware. New models do not.

The tyres are the same on the old and new models as the rims are the same. So 18 inch old or new uses the same tyres.

I have noticed that the new tyres have better rim protection than a few years ago pre 2010 so wonder if the rubbers got a redesign then at the same time as I went to the new shape.

My new 28i M sport has larger 19 inch rims than the 30i and the ride is way better, might be the msport susspention or better seats. Neither 30i with 18 rims or 28iMsport with 19 rims do not tram line as bad as the old models.

One word of caution the old model pulled to the left but tyres ware evenly, in the 30i fronts scuffed on the opposite edges (left inside, right outside) so not not tracking but BMW forcing the wheels to run straighter.

Never had a tramlining prob with my 28i Msport on 19" wheels.

I did have this prob a few years ago with a Honda Civic Sport with 18" wheels, that was a total nightmare.
