New Z4 question

Hi All,

Just flicking through the service indicator and notice the brakes are flagged up as 30,000 on the service indicator. Is this a preset thing, IE I have to take it in for a brake inspection then? or an estimate as to when they will need replacing.

What would a set of pads cost at the stealers? Do I have to get the pads replaced at the stealers seeing as I bought it on their Select agreement?

Would I need to have any other bits replaced at the same time? sensors etc?

Cheers for any advice, And merry Christmas! :D

It's just an estimate and as long as genuine BMW parts are used then you can get it done anywhere, but read the fine print on the agreement you signed.

Shouldn't be any other bits relating to the pads needing changing at the time.

Ok cool, Thanks for the reply,

Any ideas what the pads would cost?

I had rears done recently. Think it was about £110. The I drive indicator does seem pretty accurate and is not linear to mileage. Ie it does adjust / advances/ slows down. Pretty good all said.

Just under 30,000 miles for the rear pads for us. Costs vary, genuine BMW read pads and sensors are around £80 plus labour. To replace the rear pads you need a special tool to keep the electronic parking brake unlocked, although there are some how-to's posted with workarounds on the net.

Well put it this way went to BMW reference front pads they said £202 inc labour.... I ended up doing my self.
