Hi Guys,

Newbie here, i just joined last night 😁. I’m possibly going to view a silver 2006 2.5si sport 56k next weekend. It looks like its been looked after but the asking price is £5995, is this too much? Its had discs and pads all round new tyres and wheels refurbed. Drains have been cleaned and i think the motor relocated to the boot. I got a couple of valuations online and said should look to pay £4900 but i cant see someone dropping that much in price. Its also got full Service history, 12 mths MOT. He’s had the rear bumber resprayed as well. Thanks in advance

Ps great forum btw 😁

This in Bathgate? Looks tidy. Seems about right price wise but condition up close and history will confirm.

Hate painted callipers though.

Why was rear bumper resprayed? I know people get the front bumper resprayed as they are prone to stone chips.

Are the new tyres, Runflats?

Yeh thats the one, i’ve looked at loads online last few weeks and this one looks the tidiest for the price and going on the mot history looks pretty well looked after compared to others. The guys only had it since august 18 but needing a change cos of kids.

Hi Saj77

Not sure why it was resprayed, still waiting to hear back. Not sure about the tyres but iv heard runflats are crap on zed’s?, he’s also got 2 different sizes on front and rear is this common on these?

If you goto view look inside the boot and underneath at the boot area for crash damage. Have you ran a hpi check?

This is the guys response to the bumper needing resprayed

“I wanted it sprayed as there was a small crack and some paint flaking where the number plate light fits. Someone had forced the number plate light in incorrectly at some time and left it, so I just wanted to sort it as wanted car as good as possible and to get best match, decided to get whole bumper resprayed as had planned on keeping car long term at the time. I think I still have the photo of this as was like this when I bought it and had asked the seller to email me pics before I went to buy it as it was all the way down in Huddersfield. So can show you photo.

No accidents as far as I am aware and never been CAT C/D registered at any point.

Any garage I've ever used have always commented on how clean engine is, underneath and general overall”

The wheels are wider at the rear. I have the same wheels.

Info I got from on here -

Style 135 – Also known as MV2’s and an “e46 wheel”.
8x18” ET47 – front alloy
225/40/18 – front tyre
8 1/2x18” ET50 – rear alloy
255/35/18 – rear tyre

Run flats ruin the ride quality so people change them to normal tyres.
I bought my Z4 last month with brand new Vredstein tyres on, which cost around £320 for all 4 - so you may have to factor this cost in.

Ah ok, yeh thats the same size as on this one. He’d changed the runflats for bridgestone weather control A005’s reckons the grip is unbelievable

That’s good then.

Looks nice on the photos - like has already been said, need to see it in the flesh for true condition.
Maybe get him to give you a ‘facetime’ call and walk around of the car and show you the roof in operation etc. I did this before travelling 250 odd miles!

You mention that roof motor may be relocated? If so, ask him for photos of it to see it’s condition.

Regarding HPI - I always use the main company www.hpi.co.uk
Not the cheapest but seem to do the most checks from what I’ve seen.

Price for car seems about right especially this time of year - plus low mileage and full service history

Good luck

Cheers Saj77,

My mistake the motor hasn’t been relocated but he removed the hood and cleared the drains, sounds like he’s put a lot in to getting it to good standard. He seems pretty genuine, answered all my questions no probs and just wants it to go to a good home. Thanks for the info 👍🏻

Looks like a nice motor 8)

Ignore online valuations, they appear to be way out for these cars, probably because it's more of a niche vehicle and very much 'seasonal' in that prices shoot up in good weather and struggle to be sold in winter.

Hi and welcome to the forum Mikel.

It certainly seems to be a good example that has been looked after.

Let us know how it works out.

Thanks Ben g and Cribert, im not in a rush a buy but im trying to avoid just impulse buying but im liking this one. Im in the middle of changing house / jobs so still to find a garage to store in the winter. Any idea how much prices fluctuate? If its worth it i might just hold off until winter if theres going to be more to choose from and sorted a garage. Im wanting one now though!!! 😁 Cheers

The price difference won’t be massive plus you’ll regret not having it this summer!

Look at a couple and drive a couple. Get underneath when you view and see how it looks. Generally they are quite reliable. Would avoid the 2.0 but that’s just because I like 6 cylinder BMs
