New Z4 project

It's here. We're just waiting for ACS Germany to finalise a few things before we crack on with it

Pics in the morning. Or possibly tonight...

Well it stopped raining just long enough for me to take a few snaps. Our camera always seems to struggle with reds, the seats aren't really that colour as I'm sure you know.

AC Schnitzer test driver Manfred Wollgarten was out test-driving the suspension setup we plan to use yesterday on another car in Germany. Obviously this car is lighter at the front and the engine is further back (although not as far as it could be looking at it) than on some others so the spring rates and damping are likely to be specific to this model. In case you aren't aware, if there is one thing AC Schnitzer are good at, it's suspension, so we're looking forward to getting the data and cracking on.

:D

As I'm sure you know, despite the 2.8 model designation this car is a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder petrol turbo, with an unusual twin-scroll turbocharger. Twin scroll turbos aim to combine the advantages of having both small and large A/R turbine housings, generating good response low down with minimal turbo lag, but also being free-flowing at high rpm.

For years i have been thinking of a new career, its just come to me, i want to be a test driver

Good to see. I'll be interesting what results you fellas get (MPG vs performance and handling) and I like ACS obviously... which reminds I need to order my suspension and get side skirts painted.

Are you keeping the oem 326m wheels or going for something else?

Initially we are going to fit our 19" Type VIII alloys one side and Type IV the other, both in bi-colour black/polished. We often do this on demonstrator cars to show how the wheels look on the car, and obviously you can't see both sides at once (unless you use mirrors or your eyes come out on stalks  ).

Hopefully soon we'll have the forthcoming Type VIII SILVER bi-colour wheels, which I think will look fantastic and be a modern take on the old Type IIIs which were so popular. When they arrive we'll have Type VIIIs all round, silver on one side and black on the other.

By any chance do you know if you'll be offering springs, coilovers or both?
