New Z4 owner

Hi guys and girls
Just put down a deposit on a Z4 28i m sport 2012.
I've just traded in a subaru wrx 320 2010 which I've owned for 2 years which has been great but before that I had a Honda S2000 roadster which I regretted selling. So I've now gone back to a roaster in a Z4 which I can't wait to pick up.
I'm in the norfolk area and I hope you Z4 drivers put your hands up to passing Z4 drivers like I did in my S2000 :-)

After coming from Bikes were there is a Nodding culture, although there seemed to be unwritten rules in that.
Sports bikes and Naked's gave a Nod to each other, but not to Harley's,Cruisers and BMW tourers. Riding in Europe it's a left handed 2 finger wave or even a leg wave.
The MG Midgets in the 70's when I had one waved to each other but not to MGB's who thought they were Superior.
No one waved to Spitfires (lol).
My wife with her Smart Cabrio gets a wave all the time from other Smarties.

You are going to be disappointed I'm afraid in the Z I've not had one acknowledgement in over a year of ownership .
BMW (beemers mustn't wave). :cry:

I will wave at you when I come up to see my niece at Downham Market.

We the Cornish do wave but some don't especially during the holiday season which indicate that they are Emmet :rofl:

I can relate to this. Had bikes and MG midgets. All so true. :D

The only Z4s I used to wave to were coupes when I had a coupe. : exclusive. 8)
 
Hi and welcome, after 2 and a half years of ownership I still look like an idiot flashing to other z4 owners less than 1 in 10 returns any acknowledgement. I also get the impression that z89 owners seem to not recognise e85/e86 cars as the same . :fuelfire:
 
I'm also a X biker, so yep always nodding my head at others and carried it on in my s2000.
To captain ken the colour is met black. I'm trading in a black scooby and said I wouldn't buy another black car lol.

I am a serial waver to E85s, E86s and (even) E89s. Ed Doe is the only person to have returned a wave, but continue to wave. :driving: :)
 
Well I've picked up my 2012 sdrive28i m sport this afternoon and one word cover it, EXCELLENT :D
It reminds me so much of my old honda s2000 to drive but with more toys.

Hi and welcome. I had a S2k and made the same mistake you did and sold it on. My journey also took me to the Z4 in the shape of a Coupe but to me it never matched the rawness of the s2k so i now drive a z4M vert and I'm back in familiar territory. I hope u enjoy the Z4 and this forum.

I'm about to become an owner too - looking forward to it! I'd say welcome, but you've been here longer than me :P

On waving, the only car I've had that got that was a Ford Puma Millennium (still got it sat on the drive waiting for it to appreciate actually :roll: ). They only built 1000 of them in bright yellow, so got lots of waves from other owners, and one even parked next to me at the cinema once - was quite amusing :P

Welcome matt, when you picking up your zed? I'm sure you will love it.
I've really taken to mine in the short time of owning it the only trouble is when the wife and I go to work is who pick up the zed keys first as the looser gets the landys keys lol 8)
 
Sounds like good motivation to get out of bed at least! All being well, I'll be picking mine up next Saturday - can't wait! :D
