New Z4 owner

Good evening!

My name is Michael, and I've just bought my first Z4.

I've spent quite some time reading the (very helpful) posts on this forum, so I thought I'd say "hello" now I've taken the plunge and got one.

I do not pick it up until Tuesday (hence the lack of pictures), but I'll get some uploaded after I collect it.

I got a '54 plate 2.2 with black Dakota leather heated seats, CD multichanger and 18 inch 5 spoke alloys. It's metallic grey. No parking sensors, but I may well make that my first mod lest I smash the boot into a lampost or something idiotic like that.

Be seeing you,

M

Gorgeous cars.

Hi and welcome to the forum Michael

Sounds like you have got yourself a nice zed, bet you are so excited, but you just have to be patient until Tuesday which will be easier said than done.

Looking forward to seeing some pictures once you have picked it up

Welcome.. I do like the intro, it sounds like you have an addiction, which means you've joined the right forum as we are all trapped in the Z4 beauty, even if they treat us badly at times.

Love it.

Thanks for the welcomes!

I very nearly bought a Z4 when I got my last car in Feb 2009 but decided to get something sensible with rear seats and all that nonsense.

I regretted it within a month or two, but I've put it right now.

A thought occured to me - here's a photo from the dealer's website:

(Amazed that worked! First time posting something!)

Hi ,once you joined this forum you will find it hard to resist doing mods.My first would be fitting the Gap tech roof module for pose value.
First job on maintenance would be to check the roof drains are clear. :)

Hi Michael. Welcome to the forum... if you're looking to add parking sensors, I've got the whole kit for sale - including a PDC bumper in Sterling Grey too...

Apologies for hijacking the thread...

Managed to get through another Zedless day today - two more to go. It will be interesting to see how low my concentration level in work dips on Tuesday (and it starts from a pretty low level, if I'm honest).

I think I'll spend some time during the forthcoming bank holiday weekend learning how to check the roof drains. I'll probably spend the rest of the time putting a few hundred miles on the odometer.

Thanks for pointing me to your sensors Mrlozzer, however I'm going to have to give it a miss - I've run out of money buying the car!

I picked my Z4 up on Tuesday, and I love the thing already. Driving with the roof down puts a smile on my face (this is my first convertible).

No pictures yet, I'm afriad - the poor thing is covered in salt and scum and grit from the roads and looks appalling. I intend to give it a wash today or tomorrow, and then I'll post some.

I've already completed my first "mod" - new pair of sunglasses so I can see what I'm doing.

Now I'm off for a hoon while its sunny...
